We arrived here on a busy Saturday evening and although we hadn't booked we were made to feel welcome . The food was excellent and the waitress very helpful and polite . We will visit again but will book first . The food was pricey and more like an expensive restaurant but the portions were large and we couldn't fit in a dessert !

We stayed one night on our was to the Scilly Isles.
It was a good choice, located at a small junction, opposite the old church in Gulval.
The bar area is very comfortable with a good choice of local beers, served by Vincent who has a wicked sense of humour.
The evening meal was excellent and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable.
in the morning, after an early continental breakfast, the drive to the ferry terminal in Penzance was only a 5 minute drive.
We will stay again when next in Cornwall.

Booked for 2nights whilst visiting the tip of Cornwall, easy to find and well placed for visiting places of interest. The pub looks like an old fashioned boozer but what a fantastic restaurant, had the best mussels ever and the breakfast was brilliant, never had scrambled egg with crab before but it was delicious. The welcome was friendly and efficient, even carried my bag upstairs, bed comfy and lovely linens, beer very good too!
I had read about the church bells but as ear plugs were provided had a good nights sleep, the tea tray had proper coffee but remember to ask for a jug of milk the night before. This is a proper locals pub, everyone was chatty and judging by the diners both local and visitors better book your table as it is really popular and we will be back.

We stayed for one night at The Coldstreamer before travelling over to the Isles of Scilly. We had dinner there on the evening we arrived and the food was excellent - as was the real ale. We had squid for starters which was beautifully cooked, as was the fish for main course. Our room was basic, but comfortable, and perfectly adequate for our needs. The cooked breakfast the following morning was very good, although there was a fairly limited choice of cereals to start with. One thing to be aware of is that the pub has no car park and we had to leave our car on the street outside overnight, albeit that this did not result in any problems.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front overlook the road where cars are parked and also have a view of the old church.

Nice big rooms and clean. We were initially a little unsure about going through the bar and up to our rooms but actually it was okay. At night I could hear music from my room but I'm not sure where it was coming from - might have been the pub but it was difficult to tell.

In the evening we had a snack in the bar which was lovely. However, breakfast was also served in the bar as opposed to the restaurant which I thought was a pity – it just didn't seem right. Nevertheless breakfast was good with delicious bread/toast.
