I have just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay here and honestly can't rate the place highly enough!
The accommodation is set in stunning grounds with its own pool which was immaculately clean. There are two Gites available, the one we stayed in had an amazing double bed and 2 bunk beds which were equally as comfortable, along with 2 bathrooms and an immaculate living/ kitchen area. Everything has been thought of here, from quality bedding to every utensil and piece of equipment that you could ever think of needing!
We were also lucky enough to be shown the new second Gite which is out of this world and would be great for families and couples alike. The ambiance and attention to detail here is unreal and anybody would be lucky to stay here!
What makes la Maine d'autana so special though has to be the amazing hosts, Maria and Paul. Their warm hospitality was greatly appreciated and we immediately felt like part of their family. Their wealth of knowledge of the local area is amazing, and their kind generosity was very much appreciated- we can't thank you enough for taking us and picking us up from the wedding that we attended nearby, and your lovely welcome drinks were a lovely touch too.
It was honestly such a lovely few days that we are already planning on when we can return to explore the area further.
This is truly a jewel in the crown of an amazing area, and anybody who stays here is in for a wonderful time! I wish I could rate you more than 5 stars!

1 review We stayed at 'La Ferme' and had a wonder two week relaxing holiday with our two young children aged 10 and 13. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Paul and Maria who were also very informative about the surrounding areas. La Ferme was situated in the perfect location surrounded picturesque villages and towns. The swimming pool was immaculate and a big hit with the children and their inflatables. Upon arrival we were given a tour around La Ferme which was presented to a very high standard and the kitchen had absolutely everything that was needed. The bedrooms and en suite bathrooms were again designed and set out to a high standard. The wet room was very much appreciate and a pleasure to use. (We really miss it!) We had a few day trips out and about and would definitely recommend canoeing at a place called Brantome with a visit back via the wine shop there. We very much look forward to returning and having evening chats with Paul and Maria next to the pool with a small glass of Rose.
1 review We stayed at “La Ferme”. A gorgeously appointed space with every amenity one could ask for. Modern, immaculate kitchen and bathrooms that offered privacy, surrounded by amazing gardens. We went on a few day trips....Périgueux, St. Jean de Cole, and Brantôme. Our hosts were helpful and friendly. This would be a great place for a family reunion or retreat. We will definitely return and hope to stay longer the next time. This place is truly a hidden gem!

We stayed at la Ferme for 2 nights (en route to a walking holiday).
The conversion of the building has been meticulous and we found everything very comfortable. The location was lovely, and very peaceful. Maria was most helpful in recommending an excellent restaurant for dinner.
We had a big wish to see Sarlat again - we had been before on a Saturday market day and loved it, but wished to explore further - it's not that nearby, but en route we explored Les jardins d’Eyrignac with their amazing topiary.

This gite has everything one could dream of - top notch amenities, access to an amazing garden and a wonderful pool, a great area to explore and wonderful hosts (Maria and Paul, a Venezuelan-British couple). They thought of every possible detail both inside and outside.
If you like the Dordogne then this is the place to go - there are lots of amazing villages and natural sites nearby and it's nice even in the off-season.
