Extremely disappointed as we were not informed when we booked there is a current mouse plague, not only did we have to sleep with mice around and on top of our tents they also ate through our very expensive camping gear. There were also mice running all over the stove, benches and BBQ in the camp kitchen. This was also the most expensive caravan park we have stayed at. After speaking to the owners they could have at least offered a discount to go towards the repairing of our equipment.

Very nice park and very good facilities with a great outlook over the ocean but we now have mice through everything. The camper, through the car and on it goes. Saw many running around the park. Be aware that if you end up there you will probably end up with mice.

Pity because it is a very nice park.

Jenny C, Manager at Point Turton Caravan Park, responded to this reviewResponded 22 April 2017

Glad that you liked our park but sorry to hear about your experience with the mice. The whole area currently has an outbreak due to the recent favourable weather conditions and the farmers burning off stubble ready for next season's crops. We have been working to control the problem within our park and with the recent heavy rain we hope that the situation will be rectified.

We had a couple of days to fill in between two different stops on Yorke Peninsula in South Australia & stopped at Point Turton. We took pot luck as it was a long weekend & we were exceptionally pleased we made the stop. Over the phone the office team were most welcoming & when we arrived. Malcolm was out at the entry as if he knew we were arriving & as we had a very tight sit just inside the gate & a large van he gave us "left hand down, RHD, etc. & we'd slotted in like a charm (we don't suggest to these generous people we know what we're doing as they know their Parks better than we do!!). Well, while the weather became a bit rough (who cares?), we had great walks , plenty of time to read & most certainly enjoyed the views.

Great hospitality Malcolm. The history of Point Turton is fascinating. Add it to your exploration list, do your own homework & stay longer to explore, as well as taking it part of "Walking the Yorke".

Cheers Malcom,
Rooster & the Young Chick.

Room Tip: Book a room up the hill for elevated villas, if in a van one of the four front row van sites overlooking the mini-marina & jetty.

We only got to spend a night here but would have loved to spend longer. It was right by the jetty so good if you like fishing and near the boat ramp. The amenities were clean and bright. The sites were grassy and the manager was helpful. Nice park with a range of cabins too.

A pleasant caravan park, we were lucky enough to have an ocean view site. Even though the amenities are dated they were clean and functional. I suggest you book early we were only able to stay for 2 nights, I highly recommend them for your next visit.
