Not ate here for a couple of years because of bad experiences but we will be returning now. We went for starters and mains and the food was delicious. Service was good, the food was timed well and hot. All round a pleasure.

Turning previous experiences around is a key focus for us here, Badger b!

I was talking to a lady very recently that hasnt come back for eight years because of a bad experience. It emphasised, to me, the impact it can have! I am very glad you decided to revisit us and even more glad you have seen the changes. Were still young, still learning and certainly not perfect but your review keeps us moving in the right direction and I am very grateful for your time taken to do so.

Warm regards
Richard

Just had Sunday lunch. We were able to use Tesco Clubcard vouchers at 4 times value.
The Wheatsheaf has got its act together. Friendly and appreciative welcome. Excellent food, great service, and with the vouchers extremely good value.

Thank you for your review,

We're very glad you enjoyed you meal with us. We have a great team behind us now and are overall getting a lot more positive feedback. The Tesco vouches are very popular in all Chef and Brewers and they do give guests even better value for money. Pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit and hopefully we'll see you again soon.

My husband and I braved the awful weather last night, including s forty minute journey, to meet friends st the Wheatsheaf.

Two sharing boards and prawn cocktail went down a treat with a bottle of a Prosecco for the ladies. The ladies had brewers beef, tender and sweet, and the boys had fillet steak, which they both enjoyed. Needless to say, we were too full for puddings, but we did enjoy coffees near the lovely warm fire.

Every time we visit this pub we are more than pleased with the food and service and it is definitely one of our favourite places to eat.

Hi Sue

Such a lovely review thank you! I recall your table actually it was pretty brave in that weather so I am very glad you were able to make it and got back safe.

The rib of beef is a favourite here and especially good on our Sunday dinner if youre ever thinking of visiting then...

Many thank for taking the time to review us and I very much look forward to seeing you again soon in better weather!

Warm regards

We'd been for a rather pleasant walk over the hills & then along the Trent. So...lunch was always going to be high on the agenda.

It's one of those "please wait to be seated" places. For some reason I don't usually approve of that in a pub, but I have to say it worked very well. Service was friendly & efficient.

There were several lunch time menus to choose from. There were seven of us & we all agreed our meals were excellent. The three men folk amongst us enjoyed a pint of Tribute (each that is..we are not that mean!).

It's a Chef & Brewer pub, and it has a very large car park.

We liked it very much. Well done

THis is lovely to hear and thank you for taking the time to review us!

Tribute started off here as a biased personal favourite and a refreshing change for a pale offering that has now become a local hero (locally from St Austell, Cornwall haha!)

Our car park is ample for parties such as yourselves especially walkers and its good to see it being used so - lovely area for walks and bike rides. Cant wait for the summer!

Thank you once again and hope to see you all again soon
