We booked both Willow Fen & Box End for big family holiday and fell in love with the place. Carol and her team were most helpful and both properties had everything you needed.
We named the heron Henry who visited every morning & night and saw lots of wildlife from geese to otters.
The village was just a short walk away and had 3 pubs to choose from, all of which were very friendly. Wroxham only a short drive and had plenty of shops for everything you needed.
Loved both properties and will definitely be back. Thanks.
Fantastic week on the banks of the river Bure in Horning at this terrific cottage which has everything you need
Large American Fridge freezer, sleeps 10, all the modern conveniences, barbecue in the garden, two bathrooms and the most fantastic living space, indoors and out
We were even visited each day by our Heron who we named Harry!
He didn't like bread, but any meat or fish was eaten in no time
We visit Norfolk 2 or 3 times a year with our Newfoundland dogs, many times on boats, but this was our first time here..
We loved it so much we will definitely be back!
Carol and team are terrific too and will give you lots of advice and support
We were greeted with a 6' Christmas tree fully decorated and decorations around the room, which was welcome and a very generous welcome pack.
The bungalow is exactly as pictured and had a perfect layout for my family, with plenty of room for all. Tastefully decorated with everything you are likely to need. The big fridge/freezer was a bonus and the private garden was great for our dog.
All the birds clearly expect to be fed, especially the swans who arrive at 8.30 am for breakfast and we even had a heron on the decking at 3.30 pm who was not frightened by our presence. It was relaxing watching the boats go by, even during Christmas week and at night.
We were warned to bring our wellies, but we were not expecting the flooding which unfortunately occurred because of high tides and strong rains which made the Broad flood over the boat slip and completely surround the bungalow by the time we left. So for this reason I felt I could not give this 5 stars.
FYI: no EE coverage in the whole area.
Firstly do not be put off by the pictures it really doesn't do the place justice, to be honest it's usually the other way round. Had a lovely long weekend at this cottage and it was just so relaxing and the kids loved it as well. Right on the river front and such a beautiful place to stay. As a family of 4 none of us wanted to go home, could have easily stayed longer and will definately be booking again. Can't wait to sit there in the morning seeing all the natural wildlife and boats passing by. You will not be disappointed if you book here.
This is a beautiful riverside cottage, which combines old world charm with its traditional structure and thatched roof, together with all modern conveniences. Everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay by the waterside - well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with riverside views, comfortable beds with lovely soft sheets, ample car parking etc etc and views of the river and nature. Horning itself is a lovely village with pubs, restaurants and a few small shops all within walking distance.
