Having previously been on the broads many years ago, we decided we would like to go back but have the comfort of a house as well as being able to have the use of a boat. Heron Cottage is just perfect. You have without a doubt a 5 star accommodation as well as the use of a wonderful day boat.

The house is faultless. Everything is in great condition. The beds were comfy and everywhere was just immaculate. There is nothing that the owners could improve on. They have literally thought of everything and we had everything that we could possibly need and more. The house is in a beautiful setting and it is very relaxing experience.

There are three pubs all within walking distance as well as a few shops and you are not far from Great Yarmouth and other areas.

Highly recommended!

“Exceeded our expectations”
Reviewed 3 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Heron Cottage has everything required for a great holiday - beautiful views, peaceful location, and the pretty village shops within walking distance. Gail and Ken have gone out of their way to think of ways to make the cottage feel special and the cosy atmosphere makes it a great place in winter as well as summer. The boat is an added bonus, just as well equipped and a lot of fun!

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed 14 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We have just spent our first week at this fabulous accommodation, what a brilliant find! . The cottage is immaculate and the owners have thought of everything. Gail and Ken are the perfect hosts. We hired their lovely boat for the week which was a must for getting out and about on the river. The village shops and pubs are all within easy walking distance. The weather was very good and we caught a few fish but the Pike were not biting, better luck next time! We will definitely be back!.

“Would not hesitate to recommend!”
Reviewed 18 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

This was our third stay at Heron Cottage and was just as fabulous as the other two. This is the first review I've written on TripAdvisor as I am very much of the opinion that what people look for in a holiday is personal to them so what one person might find great another may not. However in the case of Heron Cottage I am confident that no-one would be able to find anything they didn't like.

The owners, Gail and Ken, are ideal hosts. On hand if you need them but not if you don't! As for the cottage, "attention to detail" just doesn't seem to sum up the time and effort that has been put into making this cottage into far more than a home from home.

The cottage is ideally situated to walk into Horning and is so peaceful you just have to sit back and relax. Definitely a place to chill and unwind. There is every possible appliance and gadget you could possibly need and the welcoming gifts are yet another nice added touch.

We used the boat on several occasions, a new one since last time we visited, and very easy to handle. We were very lucky with the weather and virtually had the Broads to ourselves!

We shall definitely be returning, hopefully for longer next time. Thank you Gail and Ken for such a wonderful holiday.

“5* is not enough for this superb cottage”
Reviewed 19 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This is a piece of heaven or earth. Right from the warm welcome from Gail and Ken to the use of the brand new day boat this holiday was outstanding. Superb facilities in the cottage, everything has been though upon, nothing has been missed. Extensive gardens right to the banks of the River Bure are available most of the time.
It is so good we have booked next year already!
