Second time of staying and the location is good. Horning is a nice place and the options for eating out are good. If you had no personal transport and relied on public transport, you would not go short and could enjoy the break.. Plenty of choice for a small place. On the down side the accommodation lacks shelter/shade given the full sun all day and it is scorching hot. Exceptional yes but no umbrella, picnic table crawling with ants poor state of the walkway and fences is regrettable. Beyond the owners responsibility is the sharing of the plot with a boat owner who spent the whole weekend move boats in and out. No apology or any notice from the owner that the plot is shared. The noise from the d i y enthusiasts at the rear for at least two days and the neighbouring property with the over indulgence of alcohol resulting in swearing and effing and blinding all Friday afternoon simply endorsed why all is not what it use to be. If you want to have a tranquil holiday and enjoy the broads, the boats and absorb the atmosphere remember how the broads use to be forget it. Long gone has the peace and enjoyment and for example the paddle steamers and in particular the boat from Wroxham was So over the top and the noisy behaviour of the DJ and those on board sums up,why the broads is no longer the ideal peaceful holiday.
A beautiful serene place to stay. Quirky and full of charm. Tiny but so well thought out, the layout worked perfectly for the four of us.
The Windmill was enchanting and I pray we return one day.
