Perfect getaway cottage country break, including a lovely helpful welcome from the owners. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed three nights and had a wonderful time.. The owner Nicola and her son were very welcoming and helpful. Holly Cottage Barn is a great base, not far from Canterbury and easy to get to Folkestone, Whitstable etc. As we took our dog, the surrounding area of common land was great for walking.
This is a small cottage behind and above a garage with lovely views out over fields and countryside. The kitchen is small but fully equipped, the bed comfortable and everything clean and tidy. The village has a shop and post office and many walks. There is a windmill open on Sundays in the summer, and they serve cream teas. It is an excellent base for exploring Canterbury and East Kent. The owner is lovely and was very understanding of us muddling up our dates and staying an extra night. We often stay in Kent to visit family and will definitely book again.
My wife, baby and I needed to stay locally for a longer period of time due to our circumstance. Holly Cottage Barn suited us perfectly. Nicola was a great understanding host and was very good to us.
It has an open area to walk for miles at the doorstep and stunning views; especially the sunset. Comfy Double bed with all amenities that we needed.
With this property you get exactly what it says on the tin, it's not trying to be more than a good standard holiday home.
Although this accommodation was in a beautiful location, it was a very disappointing Christmas break for us. The property had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. The bed was small, lumpy and uncomfortable. The sofa was in a very poor state of repair and badly needed replacing. The bathroom heater was not working and the TV remote control was missing. The bathroom had been badly designed: the bath was under a sloping ceiling so you couldn't stand up when getting out of the bath.. Fortunately we spent most of our time visiting family and friends so this was only used as a base in the evenings...
