Alison was the perfect host with a warm welcome and lots of friendly advice on local restaurants. The house is spacious and was beautifully decorated including the delicate Christmas touches which were just perfect and made us (and especially the children) feel the Christmas spirit. Being so close to Hampton Court Palace, Bushy Park and the river was nice too. There are lots of lovely restaurants nearby and Kingston shopping centre as well. I'd recommend this "home from home" without hesitation !!
Great cottage, lovely garden, very well appointed. Half an hour walk through the park to Hampton Court. A bus ride (the R68 to Kew retail park stops outside the cottage) of an hour to Kew Gardens - get off at West Park Road stop and walk past Kew station. Squiffys tapas restaurant recommended, just a short walk up the alley beside the house. 4 of us needed to book for a Friday night.
Found the front bedroom a bit noisy from the passing traffic, don't know why as the dining room downstairs was almost silent. Alison was a great hostess and was very helpful.
We arrived at the cottage and from start to finish we had a wonderful time. Mary was so helpful in ensuring we were settled in and nothing was too much bother.
The cottage was ideally located for us to go to watch the Rugby and also close enough for a trip into London.
A simple stroll up through Bushy Park and you are at Hampton Court Palace. Simply wonderful.
I don't know where to begin in my praise of this cottage in Hampton. We spent a week over Christmas in this delightful old cottage as a family of 5 and had a fantastic time. It is a perfect spot to reach London, with a small walk to the station and close to Hampton Court Palace.
It felt just like a holiday cottage should - like we were staying with relatives. The cottage is very comfortable, with a great kitchen which served us well for Christmas lunch, as well as 4 comfortable beds and 3 bathrooms.
Alison and Tim are sensational hosts. They had spent quite some time decorating the house and making it feel like Christmas for us, with all tree and decorations, which we were most appreciative of.
It's hard to spend Christmas away from home, but thanks to our gracious hosts we had a very enjoyable day.
As an example of how great they are, we were surprised by a knock on the door on Christmas Day. The local water pumping station had a problem which meant there was a disruption in the water supply for a few hours on Christmas Day. Tim had been concerned that we might have been affected so left his own Christmas celebration to battle the shops for bottled water and then brought it over to us.
We would love to stay at this property again and can't recommend it enough - the house alone is enough of a reason to stay there, as it has everything you need. Add in the amazing hosts and you can't go wrong!
We stayed with our two young children and their grandparents. The enclosed, quiet sheltered garden was a huge bonus as they could play outside while we watched on. The apartment is well stocked and equipped, with some nice touches by the vendor in leaving biscuits, tea, coffee, milk, etc for our arrival.
The cottage is well situated to get to Hampton Court Palace, to the river and to several parks.
We would highly recommend the cottage and would use again if we were visiting the area.
