We traveled as a group 5 adults and one child plus a dog. The lodge was very well presented. We have been to the site before and the location of the lodge was lovely right on the water side with the hot tub overlooking the lake perfect for us. We had a couple of minor issues at the lodge when we arrived ( toilet over filling and a hard to shut front door ) I was very impressed by the owners who had a maintenance crew over the next day to sort the minor problems out. The lodge was great but the site was a bit manic. We had great difficulty moving around as too many heavy construction lorries and poor site organisation. Its not the lodges problem but did make the trip annoying sat in your car for 20 mins waiting for diggers and static caravan to let you past.
My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying in the lakeside lodges 14 and 15 Misty Bay at the Tattershall Lakes Country Park. I had booked both lodges for a long weekend in the middle of December, so my family and I could all celebrate my 60th birthday together in wonderful surroundings.
Upon arrival we found that both lodges had been decorated up for Christmas which was a lovely extra little touch. We also found that the fridges had been stocked with some beer, wine and milk which was equally appreciated.
Both lodges were beautifully appointed with a nice modern décor and very comfortable furniture. The kitchen areas were very well fitted out and extremely clean, as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. As we had a few young children with us we were also very pleased to find that they had access to an Xbox (with several suitable game titles available) as well as a well-stocked cupboard of family games.
The position of the cabins is exceptional, as both nestle right up to the lakeside and it was a pleasure to sit out on the well-furnished decking to enjoy a morning coffee or something stronger in the evening. Of course, the hot tubs really came in to their own during our stay as we all enjoyed relaxing in the lovely hot bubbles whilst we watched the lake freezing over (yes it was that cold!).
The site itself was also very welcoming and we were all very impressed with the courtesy shown by the site staff.
In the main complex there is a little shop that sell the basics but just five minutes down the road in Tattershall itself there is a Co-Op that provides everything that you would ever need. We also found some take-away menus in the lodges and one night we ordered in a very nice Chinese meal for twelve which was delivered directly to our door in very quick time.
Another little gem is the local pub that is directly outside the entrance gates to the site The Tattershall Country Pub & Kitchen. We rang them at very short notice to ask if they could accommodate a party of twelve for Sunday lunch and even though the restaurant was fully booked they obliged without any fuss. What’s more, the food, service, and politeness of the staff was first class.
Overall, I cannot recommend these lodges highly enough, the site and the local amenities highly enough, it all made a very special weekend for me and my family extra special and we are looking forward to returning again soon.
