“Speechless, no words can describe this place expect the experience of it.”

Everything was and is perfect, rooms, food (only Healthy food), tours, garden, massage, pool, bar,the owners are friendly, the staff is very nice and smiling. If we would have known before we would have planed at least 1 good week there. Everything can be planed with the help of Mel. The place is located in a beautiful bay and it is close to the most popular beaches ( Coron Islands, black island, El Nido). Do not hesitate, just go. The experience is just amazing and so relaxing in harmony with nature and away from the stress and the noise of big cities.

“Amazing... paradise!”
Reviewed 31 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

This luxury villa offers comfort, privacy, amazing views and beautiful day trips to close by islands. Mel and Arnold are really amazing hosts, they will make sure you are taken care of. This is not a cheap place but you do get what you pay. Excellent food and after a food poisoning experience in another island Mel took very good care of us. They will make everything to make sure you enjoy your stay. We will defenitely come back one day!

We couldn't recommend Ekhaya Busuanga more highly. My husband and my children (2&8) spent 12 magic days there in late July/August and left feeling invigorated, restored, inspired, and, (after choosing to eat only from Ekhaya's (Mel's) wonderful menu) incredibly healthy. Ekhaya is not a traditional hotel or resort and that is its point of difference and strength - it is intimate (but never intrusive), where you get to know the owners and staff and from the beginning we were treated as if we were a very special part of the Ekhaya family - we did not want to leave. Ordinarily, I would not want to interact much with the owners/managers of our accommodation, but Mel and Arnold as hosts have mastered the perfect balance of interaction - they are there really whenever you need them, but never too much. We wanted for nothing and nothing was a problem for Ekhaya. For example, if at 8pm that night we decided we wanted to boat trip to an idyllic location early the next day with picnic lunch - it was all easily arranged. In terms of what to do there, it would have been easy to simply sit on the balcony or enjoy the massive pool area, or mini kids beach, or get massages in any one of the overwater pavilions the entire time, but in addition to those things, we did six amazing banca (boat) trips right off their jetty. Each one of those trips were special - definitely go to Pass Island, definitely try and get to Black Island (check weather the night before and if its a good crossing - just go), if you like diving, do the wrecks (D Divers is 5 minutes away and without question the best Dive operator around Coron), and if you have kids take them to coral gardens and the lusong gun boat - all great snorkelling. When we dived, Mels team babysitter our kids so it was all easy. Depending on the season don't forget your stinger suits and sunscreen and be mindful of where you swim.
We stayed in a two bedroom Villa which was really large (great for a family / extended family) and had beautiful views across the bay (all rooms have incredible views). It would be hard to find a part of Ekyhaya that didn't have incredible views. The location is perfect. Don't be deterred by the fact this is not in Coron or seemingly 'isolated'. After visiting Coron we were so glad we were where we were - a much prettier setting and easy access to all the top must do attractions and island destinations. The Busuanga Bay Lodge is literally next door and so if you want a little change or a drink on a balcony at that resort its also easy (I should add we didn't bother doing that until the last night because we really didn't feel the need to leave Ekhaya). I must also mention the amazing food - other reviewers have said it so I won't spend long - but it is incredibly delicious, healthy, and clean/safe- this was an unexpected highlight of our stay.
Do bring snacks etc for your kids as purchasing food, sunscreen etc is a little difficult upon arrival. And, definitely bring cash before you get there - everything in Busuanga is cash.
All in all - a holiday we'll remember forever. Worth noting there's lots of stairs, we had no problem with this, but you'll get fit!

“Fantastic”

We were a family of 4 and booked the 2 bedroom villa though we were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. We stayed at Ekhaya in April 2016 for 5 days..
Accomodation was very comfortable and clean, the food was great (although hotel prices) and the staff were excellent.
How I miss those lazy mornings on the hammock with a good book and the cool breeze blowing off the water.
The only downside would be the inability to swim in the sea off Ekhaya as there are jellyfish but with a lovely pool and the abundance of beaches nearby, this wasnt really a major problem.
This is a beautiful part of the Philippines with a gorgeous fine white sand beach a 10 minute boat ride away and great diving and snorkelling nearby. A day trip to see to see Coron Bay and Kayangan Lake is well worth it.

Location and amentities were outstanding! This place is not for the rowdy types....only for people who are looking for a high end commune with nature in the lap of luxury. Mel's and Arnie's hospitality and that of their team is Second ton none. I was surprised the Internet worked so well so we could share the beauty of this resort.
