We stayed over the weekend. The welcome was very warm and the house charming.
Our romms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious and the wildboor sausages are worth a mention.
Siobhan was helpful and suggested some great place to go, we will be back.
we loved this place, everything was just wonderful. This house was restored with great attention to detail. Our room had a 4 poster bed, fireplace, en suite large bathroom, robes, so much space it really felt very luxurious, bed linens are of the highest quality - Inglewood has everything for a luxury getaway weekend! The breakfast choices include something for all tastes, and the breakfast room is really beautiful, very Downton Abbey-ish! In the evening we went to The Bell, a local pub - less than 10 minutes walk from Inglewood House. The Bell has a good menu and live music the night we were there and just the friendliest atmosphere. We had a lot of fun!
We had not been to this area before and we will most certainly go back to Inglewood house Siobhan and Michael are the most welcoming hosts.
The welcome we received by the hosts was very warm. Nothing was too much trouble. The bed was large and comfortable. The WiFi worked fine, and the breakfast was delicious and with a large choice of muesli, granolas, fruit compote (home made), cooked options etc. Amazing ! And the landlady made us sandwiches for lunch on our walk on Offa’s Dyke which runs along the back garden. Thank you for making our walking holiday special ! 5 stars !
I want to emphasize how warmly Siobhan welcomes you to her place – and the degree to which she goes out of her way to help. We were really sad to leave. As well as the amazing breakfasts, Siobhan (and her occasional helper Lisa) gave us a range of great tips for exploring the area, maps to borrow, and details of places to eat. We arrived to fresh cake and left with more cake! But the thing I really want to stress is the degree of sincerity in Siobhan’s hosting - we have stayed at a range of B and B’s - even those that have won ‘friendliest landlady of the year in Wales’ (Inglewood is in England just), but often the welcome feels like a performance and is staged (and you can’t really blame some people for this given the behaviour of some guests!) Yet, Siobhan really sets out to help people and it is obvious (to this social scientist) that she sincerely cares that you have a good stay. I would also add that while super friendly, Siobhan is very careful not to be overwhelming …she respects your private space and time, and will chat with you if you want, or leave you alone if you are just there to chill. In sum, I couldn’t recommend this place more highly!
[Runner’s tip - from Inglewood, cross the footbridge over the river, turn left, stick to what looks like a private driveway (but is fine for pedestrians and bikers- they go around the gates too), and you have an incredible 10km return run in the forest!]
Wow so rare in this day and age to receive such amazing hospitality
Siobhan welcomes you to her B n B like you are an old friend nothing seems to be too much trouble
