A dog friendly restaurant with a separate area for those who prefer not to share space with our canine companions. A good menu and the location probably justified the pricing. Food was served up by friendly staff and the four meals selected were all well appreciated. As a center for walking this would probably be a good place to stay.

Thank you for your review.
We are slap bang in the middle of amazing walking country and only a stones throw (quite literally) from the Pennine Way. Our local staff have a wealth of knowledge and are always happy to tell our guests about some of the hidden gems on the doorstep.
Best wishes,
Jan.

We called in here for lunch when we visited High Force waterfall. Didn’t stay do can’t comment on that except to say the prices we saw seemed reasonable. The staff were very good, obliging, friendly and helpful. There was a good choice at the bar and on the menu, we all enjoyed our meal and no complaints at all. Well worth a visit.

After a cold walk to High Force Waterfall, it was an absolute pleasure to be welcomed by staff for a relaxing coffee. Lunch was large portion (even the tomato soup), very tasty and reasonably priced. Highly recommended to stop in to everyone passing by

We visited the hotel for the restaurant after our visit in the waterfalls. The food was delicious, with average prices but very filling portions. Staff was friendly and quick. The restaurant area is extremely cozy and warm and makes you feel very at home. Would definitely recommend and visit it again.

We walked to High Force and then around to the hotel for a warm up and a drink.

Nice bar area and friendly bar staff. Had a drink and a sit down and warmed ourselves up by the wood burner before continuing our walk.
