The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and was perfect for our getaway with two children of four and seven.
The hotel was clean, the staff were polite and very helpful. We felt very comfortable.
The pool is lovely, that's all there is to do there, so if you're after a hotel with a kids club it doesn't have one.
The food was great, my only negative comment would be that there is not any food catered especially for children, so my fussy four year old struggled to find something she would eat.
We would all definitely go back again, we had a great time.

This is the right place if you want to be absolutely distanced from the mainstream city life. We were upgraded from regular room to the rooms with pool access. Room was neatly decorated and first look of the room was wonderful. It is amazing to have a swim in the pool at night. There are a couple of restaurants, and there's a small lounge bar near the pool where you can relax with a drink.

This property is based in the middle of desert and gives you complete peace from city life. So, definitely recommended if you want to relax / unwind yourself.

Visit to nearby camel farms is also fun. Camel festivals are typically arranged in winter season, so you may want to time your visit to see a camel festival as well.

Room Tip: Having a room with direct pool access will be more fun; however other rooms also are quite good.

Positives:
The Tilal Liwa hotel is a lovely small hotel in the middle of the desert.
The rooms are typical of most hotel rooms in size and are nicely decorated. The beds were firm but not too firm and I slept like a dream.
The staff at the front desk were very accomodating and assisted us with all of our requests.
The hotel aims to visually present its Arabic origins and they do this well. The area itself is stunning as is the drive to the hotel.
Negatives:
The pool itself and the room balconies that overlook the pool, have a slight view of the desert, however this is ruined by the quad bikes they have for rental. They also have a limited number of deck chairs around the pool and music is play loudly at all times.
In regards to the food. Breakfast was good with an adequate choice however, some things that should have been hot were cold. Although the hotel has an al acarte menu for dinner they were very reluctant to allow us to order from that. They strongly suggested we have the buffet. Which at 140 Dirhams is a bit steep if you are not a large eater. They offered entree or main only buffet options but in all honesty choices really were inadequate. They also took a while to relace items and many of the items were cold.
Would I stay here again. I honesty don't know. With so many palces to choose from in the UAE now it would be hard to justify going back there unless the financial aspect made it worth it.

I went to Dubai, UAE for 9 days vacation, and going to Abu Dhabi particularly Tilal Liwa Hotel is included as part of my itinerary since it has nice reviews. The hotel indeed looks great plus the staff's service is the best.

The staff provided a connecting room for us, plus upgraded us to a nicer room near poolside since we went there on non-peak period. There's high tea snack, camel farm tour, plus delectable breakfast.

I would like to experience this again next time :-)

For desert lovers, this is the place.

This hotel is right in the middle of the western desert of the lovely United Arab Emirates. It has a very authentic decoration and atmosphere with modern facilities as well. The staff are very friendly and their target is that you like the place and feel at home.

Prices are very moderate compared to other hotels in the same desert.
