I traveled with two friends on a girls trip to Bali which was split between Seminyak and Villa Oscar on the north coast of the island. When we arrived we were captured by the beauty of the lush countryside which Villa Oscar is tucked away in. The deep greens of the forest which surrounds the Villa contrast with the vivid blue of the Bali Sea.
The house was full of staff upon our arrival, and they all welcomed us and made us feel at home. Sara the lovely housekeeper was on hand straight away to help us unload our groceries and show us around the villa. She was brilliant throughout our stay and went above and beyond to assist us with any query or issue. She gave excellent massages, kept the villa clean and cooked a delicious dinner and breakfast for us which we thoroughly enjoyed. Along with Sarah was a staff member who cleaned the pool, another who gardened, another who was the security guard and also the manager who came to introduce himself on our first day.
There is a resident cat named Coco, she is very cuddly and happily spent most afternoons laying by the pool and eating cheese with us.
The Villa is spacious and has an indoor/outdoor feel. There were only 3 of us staying there but the villa would comfortably fit 6+. There are 3 bedrooms with queen beds and an upstairs lounge which could sleep 2. There are plenty of open areas to hang out and enjoy the place, the sun lounges, the bali hut, the outdoor table downstairs, the upstairs table on the balcony, the upstairs lounge and the downstairs lounge. The air conditioners in the bedrooms all worked well and the common areas are open air with fans so there is a cool breeze to keep you comfy. The pool is clean and was a refreshing temperature and is cleaned daily by a smiling staff member. The kitchen is well fitted out and we cooked quite a few meals ourselves and found everything we needed in the cupboards.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at Vila Oscar and would love to stay again. It was so relaxing and picturesque we spent a few days lazing around the pool and taking in the amazing views as we didn't feel the need to go anywhere.
We would highly recommend getting up early one morning to go and see the dolphins at Lovina Beach, it was a truly breathtaking experience- we loved it so much we did it twice! Also on our list of 'must do' is a cooking class at local restaurant Barakuda. The Villa is affiliated with 'Bob' a local driver who lives nearby, we found him to be more expensive than other local drivers and he said a few things that made us feel a bit uncomfortable; however he had good local knowledge and was punctual.
If I was to say anything critical at all it would be that we had to pay for our own toilet paper and drinking water once we had used the 1 bottle and 2 rolls per bathroom that were originally provided. This was quite unusual as both myself and my friends have stayed in many places before both within Bali and around the world and this is the first time we have come across this. Sara went and purchased the new supplies for us and it was inexpensive; however just very odd to find this wasn't included given the price we paid per night. Also, the blender in the kitchen was thick inside with black mold, we thoroughly cleaned it during our stay but were a little horrified to find we had already drank a breakfast smoothie prepared in it before we found the condition it was in. We were all ok and didn't get sick, but it was a bit of a shock to find. But all in all we had a very memorable time at Villa Oscar and hope to visit again one day soon!
Everything about this vacation and this home was incredible! Can't say enough about the house, the staff, the driver (Bob Bali and his services). If ever given the chance again, will definitely come back to Villa Oscar and have already recommended it to our friends and/or family!
Never once did we feel uncomfortable with the surroundings or the staff. And it was very much appreciated to have the driver(s) that recommended outings for tourists that perhaps would never have been experienced.
The food that was prepared for us by the staff was AMAZING, the massages were incredible, and having a pool at our disposal whenever and for however long was just the icing on the cake.
Villa Oscar is truly a paradise. It's a beautiful place to stay and the views are among the best we've seen. Not only in Bali, but in general!
From the arrival on, the staff makes you feel welcome and at home. Wonderful flowers are put in the right places to make the already amazin villa look even more luxury. Really nothing is too much for them.
From the delicious in-house cooking to all the provided services like transport, massage or even laundry. It's like staying in your own, private 5-star hotel.
All the staff knows how to treat their guests and make you feel at home.
With the easy arranged transport it's a short trip to all the beaches, restaurants, bars and landmarks in the area. While back in the villa we enjoyed the peace, quietness and amazing views through the valley all to the ocean!
We would recommend Villa Oscar to anyone who concider a holiday to the unspoiled serene North of Bali.
Many thanks to all the staff and if we come back to Bali one day, you will sure see us again.
What a wonderfull place this is. The view from the pool takes your breathe away. Sara and Aju are the most amazing staff en are very helpfull all the time. they really make the stay 200% relaxed. The house has all the luxury you can ever wish for and we can't wait to go back.
