Great location we could see the elephants from our room, it was a good start for our safari, but the service not so good. I think it needs to be more warm towards visitors, in others places that we stayed during our trip the staff was more friendly

This must be one of the best safari lodges in Kenya. It works, the rooms are big and all facing the water hole and the elephants. The dining room is above the elephants so you can sit and watch them drinking while you eat. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly.
I am sorry that Kenyan Lodges dont seem to understand that Europeans and Americans are not happy to pay big sums for wifi as it is free here in Europe and most people know that is doesn't cost the provider that much. We see it as a service but they see it as a money maker.
And they miss out on Facebook advertising.
Sorry also that for such a lovely place the food was standard safari fare. Some Indian curries not done well and some European food indifferently cooked.

We stayed at Amboseli Lodge for two nights after been driven down from Nairobi in a safari jeep hired just for the two of us. The views of Kilimanjaro were fantastic when approaching the lodge through the park and there was plenty of wild life to be seen. We stayed in a room that was facing the park with great views. The room was spacious enough, a double bed with mosi nets, mosi spray and torches came as standard (although we did not have to use them). Sure no tv or mini bar- but who cares? With elephants, zebra, antelope and monkeys on your doorstep who needs a tv? It was full board with three buffet style meals a day. The food quality was okay and plenty of it with a good selection. The bars were fine and we sat out watching the animals in the surrounding savanna. The staff were friendly, courteous and attentive. Out on safari we saw lions, elephants, hippos, zebra, all kinds of antelope and birds and hyenas. Not forgetting the Masi's cattle. The stay was great. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We asked for a park facing room. If you don't like a two minute walk to the restaurants ask for...
