Today we tried authentic Bali style food ,we weren’t disappointed we went to Mina Segara ikan backar restaurant which is about 4 km West of Lovina on the Seririt rd

There’s ample parking and a large Balinese style restaurant you can sit at chairs and tables or squat like Japanese in little huts for 4 people .

The staff do not speak much English but you can ordered your food without much trouble.
You select the fish you like a it’s grilled to perfection rice & vegetables are also ordered separate.
Many types of cold drinks are. Available
You can use spoons and forks or eat with your fingers which we choose great!

You pay at the end at the cashier our meal cost $9.00 for a good sized fish,Rice’s small vegetables and 2 waters

Best value in Bali

Well what can I say this is a great local eatery out of town with really tasty and cheap seafood and drinks (no beer) Fish soup, grilled fish, squid, great spicy sauces and nice drins like coconut and orange drinks. The bill was like IDR.120,000/- inclding a pack of cigs amazingly cheap. A temple stands between the restaurant and the sea but great views. We will take another lunch there on our next trip.

The grilled fish was delicious, the plecing (spicy water spinach and bean sprouts) was tasty.

For local people like me, the spicy chili sauce for the grill fish and fish head soup was tasteless, could be better. The sautéed calamari was tough and i really didn't like it.

Overall, this place is quite nice, cozy atmosphere and cheap price.

We came to this place since it was a small place, now it was renovated and better setting for guests. That's because the place is always fully booked everyday! The fish soup just perfect! Rich in flavour and they always use fresh fish. For less than usd 4 per pax, this is a place to dine for in north Bali. But don't expect a fancy place, this is a traditional balinese restaurant, not even beach front.
