We had heard about Da’Romano’s a few years ago on a Food Network show all the way back in our home of Alaska! We knew that we were coming to Venice so I planned to try to get in while we were there and thankfully we were able to get in last Thursday December 5th at noon for lunch. We were greeted by a white jacketed gentleman named Alassandro and shown to a very nice table. Alassandro was our lead waiter and took our drink orders quick and promptly returned with our cocktails, that were wonderful. Alassandro walked us through the menu and suggested that we have the grilled sea bass for 2 as out entree’s. I knew we had to have their world famous “Goa” Risotto which I’d heard about on that Food Network show, and OMG were they correct😋 It’s absolutely without a doubt, the best Risotto we’ve ever had anywhere! While we were savoring our Risotto Alassendro came out with a beautiful rolling serving table and showed us the most beautifully grilled Sea Bass along with wonderfully grilled medley of vegetables. As Alassendro prepared our Sea Bass table side carefully dissecting the fish and deboning it very professionally we had to take a video of this very talented waiter. Alassendro then made a sauce from the juices and lemon juice and EVV olive oil. We can say without a doubt this was the best grilled fish of any kind we’ve ever had❤️ The grilled vegetables were a perfect accomplishment to this absolutely delectable fish, and luckily we had a second helping of that fabulous Goa Risotto to also accompany everything else. I asked Alassandro to recommend a nice white wine to pair with this wonderful meal, and he suggested a very nice Soave from the Venato region that was beautiful yet not going to break the bank.
After this amazing meal, Jockamo, Alassandro’s assistant (also white jacketed) brought us out the rolling desert cart for our eyes to feast on😋 We selected Lemon meringue and the Ricotta cheese cake. I asked Jockamo his suggestion for a Dolce wine to accompany our desserts and he asked me to trust him in selecting a wine. Boy, was that the correct decision! It was a perfect pairing with our delicious desserts.
I can honestly say that I haven’t had a meal and service like these gentleman served us since I lived in NYC many years ago. Da’Romano’s cuisine, flawless service, and presentation, are second to none❤️ Please do yourselves a huge favor and make your way to Burano in Venice for an amazing food experience! (Closed on Tuesdays) Lunch only noon to 3
