The house was perfect - one of the many typical colourfull small buildings Burano is famous for, it was comfortable with a modern and well equipped kitchen and reliable WiFi. It can sleep four but it really is best suited for a couple. Antonella and her husband met us at the vaporetto station to show us to the house (250 walk), pointed out the location of shops, the small supermarket and restaurants, and warned us that out of season many restaurants are closed for dinner (and the few that are open close between 20:00 - 21:00). Certainly at this time of the year (2nd half of October) Burano is a destination for day visitors only. After 17:00 it gets very quite - if you want noisy nightlife this isn't the place to go. Antonella only speaks Italian and my Italian e molto limitato, but communication never was a problem especially when using SMS or email.
Any negatives? Not really, but you should be a slow 'traveller' rather than a 'tourist' in a hurry. The boat (3 per hour) to the Fte Novo takes about 40 minutes, but other destinations such as San Marco/Arsenale, Ferrovia, or aeroporto take much longer unless you use a taxi (€130 from Burano to the airport in 30 minutes).
