This resort has it all. Great location, restaurants, spa pool and accommodation. Rooms were 2 story 'houses' nestled in lush vegetation and located along two paths (M1 and M2) which kept you from getting lost.Poolside was ideal with plenty of loungers, towels etc. Food was fabulous across all the restaurants we tried. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. There was a wedding taking place whilst we there and the setting could not have been more perfect or romantic.

Excellent service at meal times (we decided on half board) Food was super especially at the Thai restaurant. The soft shell crab salad was just amazing and the setting was one of our favourite dining experiences to date. Monica served us a few times in the Thai restaurant and she was bubbly, fun and an asset to the team. In fact all the waiting staff were attentive and friendly. Our room was very clean , very comfortable and was just how we hoped it would be. The pool was a wonderful place to be during the day and the staff there looked after us well, bringing us drinks and snacks etc. We had massages at the spa and again we were very pleased with the whole spa experience. Overall we could not fault this resort and the only negative thing I could say is that there seemed to be quite a few mosquitos at dusk so be prepared to wear plenty of lotion which the resort provide thankfully!! My thanks to all the team there, you made our stay fabulous and we went home feeling relaxed, rested and our heads are full of wonderful memories! Also I can recommend the resorts private day out on their speedboat to see the local islands, we thoroughly enjoyed that day!

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed... Krabi itself is a little paradise so it would be hard not to enjoy any hotel in the area.. But Rayavadee definitely made the extra effort. The service and staff are amazing, the little 'houses' (which is essentially what they are) are amazing and have their own little private pool. It was like having our own little place on a paradise island with room service!!! We also had daily guests to our pool - a family of monkies, who were very cheeky but funny.

To give you an example of the staff, my fiance had her sunglasses stolen by the monkies, which were fairly expensive, and the staff sent out a search party... And found them on a roof somewhere. We didn't even ask for them to try as we never thought they'd be seen again but they were determined that we didn't lose anything!

Food was on point, amenities, rooms, staff, all brilliant!!

Stay here!!!

Individual two storey accommodation set amongst gardens of tropical fauna and paths that hold a different scene around every corner, a beautiful pool surrounded by palms and overlooked by limestone monoliths and with views across the sea to the islands on the horizon where the sun sets.

Sounds like the stuff of dreams, but it’s all here at the ‘Rayavadee’ if you want it.

Yes, the beach on this side (although good) does get crowded and noisy but it never became a distraction to us. In fact, I liked people watching while lazing at the pool side.
Phranang beach on the other side of the resort can get very populated with the morning shipment of visitors who arrive here on crowded powerful speedboats.

Do yourself a favour, rise early and get here a little after eight. The tide should be out and the sun will just be getting high enough to start illuminating ‘Happy Island’ and turn the beach the colour of gold. If you are unlucky there maybe more than twelve people on the whole stretch of sand. Otherwise it will be you and maybe half a dozen more, possibly the monkeys will be there as well. But it won’t last as the tide moves further in and the first visitors start to arrive after nine.
You can now leave and take in a deserved breakfast on your way back.

Take time to find your way around the gardens as they are a delight and should be appreciated. You could be lucky to see the monkeys (different to the ones on the beach), beautiful butterflies or even a lizard ambling along your pathway. I was hoping an elephant might turn up and break cover.

By far the best meal we had was at the Thai restaurant (Krua Phranang) and at the same time being thoroughly entertained by stories of the conception and early days of the Rayavadee from Mr. Khun Sayan regarded as an institution within the resort. For us, a proper gentleman.

To our surprise there were more establishments to the right of the resort than we imagined. If you fancy a genuine Indian meal then there is a place called ‘Kohinoor’ down what they call the street which is very good. You may have to queue to get a table, but its’ well worth the wait & something of a recommendation that diners are prepared to do this.

With their warm smiles, we found all the staff absolutely brilliant and always on hand without being overbearing, but ensuring our stay would be memorable for all the right reasons.
A special thanks to Maria who helped us to solve our onward journey issues and all the guys around the pool area. Your kindness & generosity will stay in our memories for a long time.

Room tip: Our villa was ideal at the mid point between the reception & breakfast area and swimming pool.

We stayed here for four nights during our trip to Thailand. It is an absolutely stunning resort with first class service. The accommodation with its living quarters and upstairs bedroom equipped with two bathrooms was probably one of best 'hotel rooms' we have stayed in.

The grounds of this resort equipped with all kinds of wildlife including monkeys in trees is unbelievable.

The hotel has access to several stunning beaches. Railay beach surrounded by the tall green cliffs is lovely albeit noisy with the boats coming in and out however we knew this in advance as clearly it's a public beach where locals thrive on offering trips to nearby islands.
The beach on the other side is more tranquil.

The breakfast here is fantastic, the staff cook what you want straight off the menu however the only negative comment I would have concerns the general food and drink prices. Which despite the 5 star status are too high. There are many local businesses nearby that offer good quality food and drink at a fraction of the cost hence I personally believe a more proportionate approach to pricing would see more of the residents 'dining and drinking in'

Having said that, the hotel acknowledged my birthday with a lovely complimentary bottle of wine and a cake. Fantastic memories and would definitely return.
