Have just come back from an amazing 4 days away at the above Chalet. It is a fairly remote place about 3.5 hrs from Perth and about 15 minutes out of Mount Barker in the Great Southern area of Western Australia.
We decided to stay there as we needed some time to just unwind and relax. On the way down we stopped in at Alkoomie Wines and as you do bought a few so whilst we were relaxing we could have a little tipple or two. It is a good sides chalet and could have fitted 5 people in there quite comfortably. There is Air conditioning to keep your warm and every other mod con that you could ask for. We took our food and were given 6 fresh farm eggs from the girls (chooks) who live in the next paddock away and also fresh milk – been a while since I had any of that!
There was every piece of crockery and cutlery that you could possibly want and a lovely BBQ right out front on the verandah. There was a hot tub as well but as it is winter not quite able to convince me to go outside to use it. But it is there if you want to use it.
This little place is just a home away from home and for us the best part was that we could even have our dog there and leave her whilst touring in the nature reserves and up the Stirling Ranges. The chalet is totally enclosed to keep your dog safe and sound and they are even allowed inside. A bonus.
If you are looking at having a rest in the West and are traveling around the Great Southern then this is really a fantastic place to stop and recharge your batteries. I would recommend it to anyone. For us it was a really great place and we will be going again.
