I've stayed at La Coma twice in recent years, whilst on hiking holidays. The location is great, surrounded by beautiful hill country and only a short drive from the mountains at Valter ski resort. The family owners and their long serving staff are very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with local transport arrangements, making phone calls etc. The rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts are more than adequate with colds meats, cheeses and various fresh breads. Dinner is a feast with many regional specialities, very generous portions and good service. Setcases was originally a farming community but is now largely a holiday village. Local architecture and character have been skillfully conserved. It is busy during the summer holidays and winter ski season, otherwise rather quiet

Room tip: Ask for a room on front of building, they have balconies and best views.

Having phoned beforehand with a full explanation-before travelling out to Spain specially to pay a personal visit-tried to book 8 people in here yesterday.
The hotel was the favourite of recently bereaved lady who wanted to organise a last friend's get-together here with a scattering of ashes of her husband in a remote corner of the extensive grounds in November.
The owners told us to go away without any sympathy apology or explanation. The lady was most upset afterwards at her rude treatment after her long fruitless journey.None of the 8 of us will be going again.

We stayed here in late June 2012 on a walking holiday. What a fabulous hotel tucked away in a quiet valley. The pool was extremeley refreshing after a hard days walking. The Owners and staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was very nice, traditional Catalonian style and very plentiful,A perfect hideaway in a lovely part of the Spanish country.Just great.

We stayed in this hotel last September (with HF Holidays). I would unreservedly recommend it to anyone. The setting in the wooded valley is very peaceful, the room was comfortable and well furnished, and the view from our balcony was just lovely. The little village of Setcases (Catalonian for 7 houses) is quiet, and predominantly second homes, but there is a small supermarket and a sort of delicatessen/souvenir shop and several restaurants. Up the hill a few Km is the winter ski resort, and footpaths up into the high Pyrenees, where the vultures circle high in the sky.The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The cooking was done by the family, and felt real authentic Catalonian. If you want a big smile, try the "Whisky Pudding". at least once.

A fantastic hotel with beautiful view in a fab location. We stayed here while on a short trip to ski at Vallter 2000 and was perfect for our needs. The room was every bit as good as the Barcelona Hilton (better view though),and the staff were friendly. The food was lovely, traditional Catalonian, with a choice of dishes and good portion size. Would recommend to freinds and family and are looking forward to coming back in the summer.
