“Peaceful location and dog friendly”

Situated almost at the end of the road, with only a farm a little further on. The cottage is well appointed and has everything you need. Jennifer and Forest (owners) take care of turnarounds themselves, having everything ready and are there to greet you and explain how everything works. Nearby village has small shop, pub / restaurant and tea room. Supermarket only a short drive away in Stranraer, if you really must! Can recommend for an "away from it all" break.

We have just spent a week at Kenmuir Cottage. All the previous reviewers have said it all. It is a wonderfully equipped cottage (all you need to bring is food) set in a very quiet area with the only passing traffic being the local farmer. The large garden is very secure for dogs (our retriever really enjoyed himself) and small children. Two nearby beaches can be reached on foot and there are many others within a few minutes reach by car. The Mull of Galloway is very quiet, little traffic and most places are dog friendly. We will be booking another week here later today. It is excellent value.

Stayed here for a week with hubby and our two boys who incidentally are now shattered after enjoying all the lovely and practically empty beaches.

The cottage itself is quaint, well equipped and homely the owners have paid so much attention to detail and made the most of the space. Thank you for the welcoming chocolate and wine to greatly appreciated.

The garden was a delight completely secure so our dogs could wander round with no worries from me, the first few days the heifers were coming up to the fence and rolo kept telling them off but them the farmer swapped them for older cows and peace was restored.

There were plenty of birds and had the pleasure of watching a nest box of baby starlings being fed and fledging. Saw deer and hares to. Best field for the hares is the one opposite side kitchen window towards the sea and for the deer the hill to the back of the cottage or the rocky side opposite picnic bench. Plenty of pheasants to.

A must is a visit to rspb Galloway the bird life there is spectacular and the cafe is lovely even picked up a few pressies in the shop.

In respect of beaches from the cottage we preferred Ardwell beach which you can walk from the cottage, one mile along rocky pebbles underfoot and is generally empty when you get there this is about a mile walk one way or you can walk the road to it which is two Mile one way either way it's peaceful

Make sure u catch the sunset and the night sky both of which are lovely ps it goes dark late up there at the moment.

All in all nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and would like to thank Jennifer and forest for their warm welcome even not being there you could feel the love they had put into the cottage would love to visit again and cannot recommend enough

Our week in Kenmuir was tranquil. The cottage is peaceful and superbly equipped. Watching the evening sunsets over the meadows with a glass of wine in hand was heaven ( large wine glasses appreciated ). A couple of miles drive to the A716 made travelling up and down the Galloway peninsula easy. Fabulos seaside villages where we meandered along the coastline - particularly liked Portpatrick and Drummore. Stunning gardens - Logan and Castle Kennnedy both visited. If you're looking for peace in quiet in an excellent location - this is it.
