My wife and I when to this place in mid November, it took us good 30 to 45 minutes to get through the gate. Once inside they sent us to this hall that it's not even close to what a hotel reception area would look like, I saw good 500 people seating on chairs waiting, so I asked the person at the table if that was for a timeshare pitch and he said no, we have your reservation papers here, please have a seat and they'll call you.
That call came 50 minutes later!!!! a crowded room, no AC, if you needed a drink or a washroom you have to go out risking you'll miss your call.
Our room was on the farthest part of the complex probably the one with the worse beach area but the room was clean and spacious with a nice view of the ocean, but a fridge and a safe was available for a price,
Drinks were terrible, no mojitos or caipirinhas only premixed juices with alcohol on it, the beer was low quality I only had one, after that I only had scotch.
Out of 3 days we only had one day at the beach, because of the low tide the water doesn't reach the beach area inside the reef and you can't go on the other side of the reef too many rocks. The bottom of the salt water pool feels slippery and yucky because of all the silt at the bottom of the pool.
The food at the themed restaurants was not that good either, my steak was tough, the sea food restaurant was a bit better but not the 5 stars they advertise. The food court food was not any better, overcooked chicken, lots of rice and beans, not that much sea food or fish even though you are right by the ocean!!
The waitress and bar tenders were courteous and the grounds were nicely kept. Our check out was quick at the lobby of our building which we could have checked in there in the first place.
We were told it was a nice place, for the locals I imagine it's ok since there's nothing they can compare to, so they have no choice, but for the price it's not worth the aggravation.
