It was not a planned visit to the Antidote.A few family members and I were in the area for a biking weekend. At the last minute we checked TripAdvisor, saw the Antidote at the top of the list and took a chance. We were lucky, There was room for 4 at 9pm. We got a bit concerned while looking for the place. After driving through an entire strip of restaurants, we ended up in a pretty quiet area and the front door at that address certainly did not look like a restaurant.I called to be explained it was at the back with plenty of parking.I am so glad to have persevered as that was in all honestly the best dinner I had in my life EVER! The ambiance, urban industrial combined with old architecture made it a very cozy place. First I was under shock to be so well welcome by the guy at the entrance. He was so nice I thought he was an actor. Now I know this was not fake as the entire Sherbrooke area is just like that. Never seen so many nice people in one single place. Anyhow he really made us feel welcome. It was like if he was honored to have us there for the first time. Then Violette, our server, who was apparently learning the job quite honestly made us feel as if we were the Clinton's visiting North Hatley, She made several wine recommendations that were simply perfect. Then tha-food!!! Ho Lord! The entire menu, just long enough, was creative and totally different from what I had seen before and believe me, I have traveled a lot around the world and ate in many restaurants before. I personally had the liquid BLT, the macreuse and the famous popcorn ice cream. It was simply divine. If you pass by or near by, try to make a stop. You will not regret it. It will be a little bit pricy but every bite will be worth it.
