“Private lakeside beauty!”
Reviewed 18 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

What a beautiful place! The log cabin design and hardwood floors were beautiful, and the house was very comfortable for the two of us. We enjoyed the natural beauty of the lake, and the peace and quiet of being the only house in sight. Favorite memories are spending an evening on the large couch in front of a roaring fire, and trying snow shoeing on the lake! Some details about the house: the main level has a comfortable living room surrounded by windows with a dining table for 8, a round table for 4, a desk, a rocking chair and recliner, a very comfortable large sectional sofa, and a wood-burning stove/fireplace. A few board games and a puzzle were provided in the cabinet. The kitchen is open to the main room and had a 4 burner gas stove and small oven, and included dishes, cleaning supplies, dish towels, aluminum foil and plastic wrap, and paper towels. There is a full bathroom on this level with tub and shower, and the laundry room is attached to the bathroom. Laundry is only available for longer stays so you may want to ask ahead of time if you can use/access it. The bedroom on the main level has a comfortable king-size bed, a large closet, and 2 big armoires which are pretty but make it a tight squeeze to move around to the far side of the bed. The entranceway is long and they have put down rubber mats to allow plenty of space for drying out boots or other outdoor equipment. A nice surprise were the provided snow shoes, which we used on the private path along the lake shore. The living room has French doors that lead to the patio and fire pit, but they cannot be opened due to the window blinds, so you walk out the front door and around the house to get to the patio. They had 2 comfortable padded chairs and 3 large plastic chairs set up around the fire, where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake including their private island. Up the open staircase is one large loft space with 2 twin beds, a double bed, and a futon mattress on the floor, plus a small half bathroom. This space has great views out the large windows and is open to the main living area below. They had a gate at the top of the stairs in case you needed to make sure children didn’t wander off (or fall down) in the night. The owner was very responsive, gave great suggestions on where to eat and explore in the area, and had the house ready for us 2 hours early. There was a huge supply of firewood in the covered outdoor shed, plus a wheelbarrow to cart the wood to the front porch or fire pit, and they made sure we had plenty of kindling. The driveway is private, and they provide a key so you can lock the entrance gate when you go out. There is another house just outside the gate, so in the case of emergency you’re not too isolated. As you can see from the photos there is plenty of room to park several cars and still have room to turn/exit. There were a lot of alive and dead lady bugs by the windows in the living room, but they didn’t bother us, and we understand the realities of being out in nature. So if you are a couple, or a group that’s ok with only one private bedroom, this is a lovely place to enjoy the area. You can’t see any other houses around, and in the summer the lake must be a lot of fun to enjoy right outside your door. Highly recommended!
