This restaurant is so unique! We wanted to go out for a special supper. We had already eaten at several restaurants in the area and while walking through Old Quebec, this restaurant stood out. We got dressed up and decided to try the Continental. It was even more special than we thought it would be. We were greeted at the door by a Maitre'D and that was the beginning of a wonderful night. The waiters were very attentive and the whole experience was just superb. The meal was second to none. They do a wonderful flambe which is a treat in itself. It is the quintessential French dining experience. Don't miss it!!

Our experience here was the best!!! You MUST go and try anything they make flambé!! We had the Mustard steak and the Cherries Jubilee and were amazed at how the service never falters!! OUr waiter was, a chef at same time he flawlessly waited on us!! He had been working there 15 years, 41 as a waiter in this type of restaurant and we were delighted!!! DO NOT leave Quebec without eating here, pricey but worth EVERY penny!

We were warmly greeted by the friendly Maitre D' who made us feel very welcome. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful - every detail is perfect wherever you look. The atmosphere is very comfortable yet refined and special. The team worked perfectly and seamlessly together, coordinating efforts between the Maitre D', the servers, the chefs at the tables, and the chef team in the kitchen. We started with seared fois gras, shrimp cocktail, and lobster bisque. Seared fois gras is one of my favorite foods, and this was one of the best I have had. The shrimp was perfect, and the bisque delicious. Our chef/server (Michael) was amazing - highly skilled, very knowledgable in all aspects of food and wine, and very personable. Michael made a salad at our table, preparing the dressing from fresh ingredients tableside - it was great. I had the giant scallops, which were prepared with caviar on top and a spectacular sauce, paired with turnips and bacon wrapped asparagus. The scallops were cooked perfectly - moist and flavorful.
My wife had the veal with mushrooms - the veal was thin yet cooked perfectly so it was tender and flavorful. My son had a sirloin which Michael prepared Flambé tableside with a red wine reduction gravy made on the spot - it was cooked to perfection and the reduction was stunningly delicious. Michael suggested a wine from St Emilion called Chateau Montaiguillon - we loved it. For desert, Michael made us Crepe Suzette Flambé, tableside (great) for my wife and son. I had a cheesecake - it was a wonderful texture, so creamy and smooth - as a cheesecake lover I can say this one rated right at the top of my list. Our experience at Le Continental was absolutely wonderful, and we will cherish the memories of this dinner for many years to come.

An exceptional but expensive dinner at Le Continental in the heart of Old Quebec. Finally, my onion soup au gratin, and then Dover sole, delicious. My daughter had a flambe peppercorn steak cooked to perfection tableside. What a show.
