Traveling from the US, a local friend recommended Elounda to us, as they know we enjoy both Greek and Seafood. The Manager was very welcoming and we were promptly seated. We ordered the large Greek salad which was full of Fresh (key word in this review) tomatoes, feta, cucumber, onion- a few more olives would have been appreciated, they were delicious. There was more than enough for 4 and we took some home. I ordered mussels marinara for my meal and one of the best I’ve had, sauce was rich and flavorful. 2 in our party split the generous portion Seafood Linguini and one had the Shrimp Elounda- a fresh take on Shrimp Parm served over eggplant. All was fresh and delicious, service was friendly and informative. Too full for dessert, maybe next time!
What could be done to improve? Bread was a bit dry, and when we eat Greek in the US we always get hummus or Babba and pita but that didn’t seem to be as traditional at Elounda.

I’m often reluctant to head out to yet another Greek fish restaurant. Montreal has way too many and often they’re ordinary and so similar.
We’ve been to Elounda several times and always leave very satisfied.
PROS and CONS: fresh fish and seafood cooked perfectly. Decent rib steak, but the lamb chops are thin. The service is friendly attentive and very professional. Good Greek salad with excellent creamy feta. Would pay more to be served more than a small cube per person. Superb martinis and a couple of good Greek beers, but limited full bodied wine choices that we prefer. Prices are very high but the quality is above average.

We have been here a couple of times and always enjoyed the seafood. You can see the ingredient displayed on ice and baskets in front of the kitchen. To start the Greek dips are pretty good, taramasalata just fishy enough( fish egg spread) kopanisti just spicy enough ( roasted and puréed red peppers with cheese) and the classic tzaziki ( not to garlicky) the feta in the Greek salad is also really good. The loukaniko( Greek sausage) is yummy with that fennel mixed in and the Saganaki could be crisper but still good with the oozo and lemon. We then go onto either a grouper or porgy which ever they recommend or we are in the mood for. Both nice moist white fishes grilled and drizzled with evoo, lemon & capers and voila a perfect meal. Their fried eggplant/ zucchini you have to tell them well done so they are crispy and not oily. When we are in a larger group the grilled mushrooms and peppers really tasty !
Then to finish off we have a couple of yogurts with honey and fruits.

I haven’t visited this restaurant in a long time so decided to go back to see if it still lived up to my expectations. The food was good as usual but I was a little annoyed by our waitress and she seemed confused and was very slow to service our table. I was surprised as the service is usually very good, so I’m thinking she may have had an off day. Still a great place to visit if you’re in that area.

This restaurant is located in Ville St-Laurent, off of the main attraction areas of Montreal, but it offers quality food, excellent service and all are made from fresh produces, most of them coming directly from Greece. Do not miss their great appetizers: fried zucchini, eggplant & tzatziki, grilled octopus. For the main dish, lamb chops and great fresh fish of the day. They also have great deserts like a dish with thick Greek yogurt covered with sour cherries and Greek honey. They also offer free fruit platter on the house. You cannot get any better. I have gone to this restaurant several times and the quality is always there.
