A must when craving lamb chops, calamari entree, steak and their secret sauce. Their Greek salad is delicious as well.

On a Tuesday night, out of the 4 meals ordered only the calamaris were good. The chicken souflaki and chyros were so dry!... and the entrance door slamming!.. Couldn’t take it anymore. And you can only pay cash??..

Ate at Marven's on a Sunday afternoon during a day trip to Montreal. This was our third time here and this time was significantly worse than the last. Firstly, don't expect good service here unless you're pals with the waiter. The good: calamari as usual. The bad: everything else. We had some gyros and I think the put the meat scraps in there (fatty and chewy), garlic bread was dry and seemed like left overs from the last table. Overall I think this place has gone down hill and will definitely be our last time here.

Marven's is one of those restaurants that must be on your "must eat here" list when in Montreal. It's in a very unassuming neighbourhood, very residential area Park Extension. If you drive by too quickly, you may miss it! The staff is very friendly, the food never disappoints, and very reasonably priced. 5 of us recently visited the place. We started with a platter of calamari. So fresh and perfectly done! Lunch was pork souvlaki on a pita with salad and thick cut fries. The gyro platter was also delicious. We ate so well, but couldn't finish the enormous portions. Well worth the visit. The plates are priced from $10-$15. I've tried other souvlaki joints in Montreal, but I always go back to Marvens. Please note: they only take cash. A visit to Montreal will not be complete without Marvens. Oh and after you're done, walk down a block to St-Roch St. and get some Greek desserts from Aphrodite Bakery. :)

Met up with some friends and had not been to Marvens for over 30 years. It was popular way back then but we were not expecting the 30 minute line up before getting in. The food is still great with crispy calamari, we dressed souvlaki and tender lamb brochettes. Still reasonably priced and the food is fresh and the service friendly.
