This restaurant is a Chinese inspired restaurant that features small plates. Some dishes such as popcorn shrimp and pork wonton dumplings were amazing other dishes off with just too much strong herbs ( Vietnamese beef) or too strong a smoke flavour.
The wine list was crazy expensive with most bottles around 60$. The service was friendly and inefficient.

We dined here because a Washington Post reviewer strongly recommended it a year ago. We arrived at opening time (5:30 PM) on a Wednesday evening. That was wise because the place was packed within an hour.

Our waiter was Alia, a young woman who inspired confidence in her knowledge of the menu. That was why we accepted her first recommendation, a Chrysanthemum salad, even though I thought, how the hell do you make a salad out of a flower?

The answer was, very well if you know what you are doing. Alia served us a heaping plate of greens (the stems, I guess) lightly dressed with some kind of oil and perfect spicing. We liked this so much that we placed a second order, thinking we could always take it home (but very little was left).

We also ate green beans with tofu sauce; dumplings filled with duck, Shiitake mushrooms and beets; Shanghai noodles; steam buns with foie gras and spices; and neat little razor clams that were great, but at $28 I would forego this special. We drank Jasmin tea and had one Orange Rouge cocktail, a great drink with a vodka base. We ended the meal with a large scoop of Orange ice cream. The total came to $136 Canadian before tip.

This was an exceptional meal. We're on vacation from Maryland, so we can't be back too soon, but love Montreal and will definitely eat at l'Orange Rouge at our next visit.

Went there on date night on a Thursday. Warm greeting from waiter and great atmosphere. Loved the music and the vibe. Different from the other chinatown restaurants. However food was salty and blend. Drinks we’re good. Would not go back unless it is for a drink because it is pricey and you could find better food in chinatown!

This was the first restaurant experience of our 1 month old daughter!

The staff service was excellent. Smiley young people always ready to help.

Food was great. Especially the green pea salad and the cod with special mushrooms, both original and yummy.

I would go back.

Thanks for the very good evening we had!

We had the takoyaki and salmon tartare to start, which were beautiful - the combination of textures and flavours perfect. We then had two specials for main, a halibut dish and a beef and homemade noodle dish, which were both incredible. Pudding was brownies and a deconstructed pina colada, which hit exactly the right notes. The servers were attentive and friendly, and took the time to explain the dishes and drinks. Didnt have a better meal in our time in Montreal!
