For a boutique hotel, this is as good as it gets. all staffs are friendly. the hotel is well-maintained, clean, room is spacious. i've stayed in quite a few starwood properties in major north american cities, the room i stayed in at le meridien is comparable to many sheraton even westin locations. the room had a lot of small touches to demonstrate what le meridien sets up to be in the starwood family.

Room Tip: Due to location on a major street, its not the quietest location for a hotel. if quietness is very important to you for a good night sleep, this property might not work. Otherwise, it's a great hotel if you are in town for personal visits.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently before moving to another property for a conference. I stayed here based on the SPG program and the rate ($119 a night).
I do like the location, a short walk away from everything in town (very close to the metro as well). The hotel is a smaller, boutique hotel which I prefer over the larger hotels. Fantastic service at check-in. As a platinum member, I was upgraded to a nice suite. The room itself was nice, though I found the hotel is a little run down and needs repair/renovation. For example, the shower REALLY needs to be cleaned (grout) and leaks into the next room; wall paper coming off the walls, banged up halls, etc.
Normally I am pretty easy going though found this hotel a little behind the usual SPG standard (especially since I have stayed if 5 other Le Meridiens over the past few weeks).
Breakfast was included which was OK, WIFI was also included. There is some parking around (not sure the cost). I would say this hotel is average. I did enjoy the bed; very comfortable for sure.
I would possibly stay here again if the rate was low, otherwise would consider another property.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to be different size (look at the map) Get a room off of Sherbrooke (quieter)

The hotel is not new but it is well-maintained. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Our room was comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate. We were able to walk to most places, but we love to explore cities on foot. The hotel is close to shopping and universities but in a quiet area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room far from the elevator.

This is a small boutique hotel and is in a good location to shop and dine. The staff are very helpful and friendly especially in the bar. We had a problem with our TV and even though it was later in the evening they were able to at least get a picture. We booked an executive queen room which had a great view but was very very small. The bathroom has barely room for one person. The decor in the room was well done and the bed linens are super. The breakfast (included in the executive rooms) was Ok nothing special but adequade. It was nice to have free WIFI although we did have to contact the help line/desk to get it up and running.

Room Tip: Ask to look at the room as there are very many different sizes

This was our first vacation to Montreal. We chose Le Meridien more for the reputation of the brand and less for the location. The hotel experience was disappointing but we really liked the location. The hotel is small, more like a boutique hotel which would have been great had the service measured up. Our first room smelled horribly of cigarette smoke despite being a nonsmoking hotel. Te staff seemed to be completely unaware and shocked. Worse yet, the housekeeping staff failed to clean our room on our first full day after returning at 3pm. The maid did not want to do it after were to leave for a concert at 5 pm. She felt that after we called, it was an inconveience!! The rooms were comfortable but the AC was very loud at night an woke us both up every time it turned on. The hotel has very limited amenities - small lobby, no services other than a small restaurant. The hotel did have a comp passes to nearby museums which was quite nice. The location on Sherbrooke put us close to shopping on St Catherine and the museums/restaurants, but a bit of a cab ride ($15 each way) to Vieux Port. We preferred the Sherbrooke neighborhood to the big corporate hotels (Intercontinental, Westin, W) near the port. We loved Montreal in the summer and will definitiely be returning. Will likely search for a different hotel despite my loyalty to SPG.

Room Tip: Ask NOT to face Sherbrooke. It is much noisier than away from the front of the hotel.
