Owner description: The Distillery District is an internationally acclaimed village of brick-lined streets and dozens of vibrantly restored Victorian Industrial buildings. It’s one of Ontario’s hottest tourist attractions and home to live theatres, galleries, fashion, design and jewelry boutiques, unique cafes and award-winning restaurants. It’s all completely closed to traffic and just a few minutes walk from downtown Toronto.

Few galleries, few restaurants and if nice weekend - forget about getting a table for lunch in after taking a long time to find parking. I suggest reservations if one interested in a brunch with live band at The Boiler Room, or do not go on empty stomach :). I like visiting the place where special events happening but found Xmas time was a waste with the pretty lumber huts selling overpriced Xmas decorations. I liked it when everyone could paint and it was displayed later on. It's a very good feeling to be a part of community.

I love walking through this historic district. The architecture is phenominal and you are always bound to find something new and interesting in the shops and galleries. Expand your perspective on the world by taking a walk through the galleries. My favourite is the Engine Gallery.
For some great shopping pop into Lileo.
The Vintage Gardener is also a delight for the senses.

It is especially wonderful at Christmas, when they have their magnificant tree decorated. It's a great place to find unique presents, had a nice lunch, try on some funky clothes, look at some amazing work done by artists. Very neat.
