We spent 10 nights here in May visiting our son who has moved to Toronto and lives with his partner nearby. Elizabeth was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The house is lovely and our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was a fine start to the day with good food and company. All the guests lingered over coffee and Elizabeth joined in the discusion and offered suggestions for the day ahead. There are good restaurants and bars on Dundas which is less than a 10 minute walk away, and more a bit further away on Bloor, around Runnymede train station. This will be a regular for us, at least until our son moves somewhere with a spare bedroom.

Lovely home in a peaceful area of Toronto. Public transport is very close as well as a shopping street with lovely stores, boutiques and great places to eat. The rooms are large enough, the beds comfy and the breakie is brilliant! This bit of Scotland in the highlands of Toronto is just what the doctor ordered!!

Room Tip: Get the room with the built-in hot tub, to die for!

We spent two nights at Inverness and were quite comfortable. Our hostess was very welcoming. The bed was comfortable though we did find the room quite chilly, no heat in the rad, same in the bathroom, quite brrrr for showering. On the second floor the floors are quite creeky so one is always nervous that they are disturbing others just by getting up to the washroom. There was no comfortable chair in the bedroom to sit and read in.
Breakfast was beautifully prepared and served. There was no variety though and we were not asked if we had any food preferences or dietary limitations.

Room Tip: Ask for a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, one I looked into had easy chairs and felt quite warm a...

I am so sorry to hear that you were cold while staying with us. Guests at the front of the house had their windows open?...so trying to keep everyone at their desired temperature can be challenging.

Had you mentioned this to me I would immediately.have turned up the house heat ..and/or provided you with a space heater right away to make sure you were comfortable.

Regarding your comment about our not asking for your dietary preference, it does say on our website that if you have a dietary preference/restriction, to mention it when you make your reservation. I'm sorry you didn't see that and mention it to me if in fact you did have a specific dietary requirement.

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say there isn't enough breakfast variety. Breakfasts are planned to optimize both nutrition and balance. I would welcome more specific information on this subject, since our aim is always to improve the quality of service to our guests.

Yes...because of space limitations, you are right. There is no chair of the type to comfortably sit and read a book in the room you were in. There are however two such chairs in the common guest area, which other than at breakfast time, is generally quietly conducive to reading or other such activities.

If you decide to give us another opportunity to host you, your first night will have a 50% reduction. Not sure I can do much about the squeaky floors however...LOL

I travel to Toronto regularly for business and find the Inverness B&B a refreshing and convenient change from downtown chain hotels. Great rooms and breakfast, and a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere. Wireless internet and printing is available, along with parking and easy access to the subway. There is also within walking distance a very good range of local restaurants and other amenities. In short, the Inverness always provides a very relaxing and pleasant place to stay.

Room Tip: Bloor West Village, which is a short pleasant walk away has good selection of restaurants and other...

I stayed with Elizabeth (don't remember her last name) for 2 nights in November 2011. It is a very comfortable and warm B&B in a lovely clean house with comfortable beds and full of nice "antiques" and memorablia. Elizabeth is very helpful and accomodating and let me use her computer before my air flight home. Her breakfast pancakes are delicious. The B&B is situated in a quiet part of Toronto about one kilometre from the subway which takes you straight into town in about 20 minutes. High Park is close by which is a lovely quite place to walk in. I can recommend this (smallish) B & B to any visitor coming to Toronto.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice. One on the ground floor. No lift
