A nice place for a stroll if you're into doing walks in cemeteries. It has a quiet charm and is a good place to visit if you want to learn something about those who were before us. Some interesting markers.

A nice old cemetery with many historical bits and pieces relating to Toronto and Cabbagetown's past. It's a pleasant, peaceful walk while imagining the lives of inhabitants here and a great place to reflect on life. Unfortunately due to snow, ice and tree debris I found myself almost walking over headstones and broken bits of memorials which I found a bit sad. If you need a lift afterwards, head to nearby Riverdale Farm where its lively animals will put a smile on your face!
Well worth a visit if in Cabbagetown..

I love this small, historic cemetary. It's located in a beautiful part of the eastern edge of Cabbagetown, next to Riverdale farm. Cemetaries are filled with unique markers and messages that hints at the lives of the "occupants'. This one isn't as impressive or elaborate as Mt Pleasant, but it has it's own quiet charm.

An uplifting place to bring a date or go for a pic-nic!
The "locals" are extremely quiet and mind their own business !!
Perfect place to go on a rainy afternoon after a good dose of Prozak or Cypralex ! :)
Highly recommended!!

After having an excellent experience at Mount Pleasant Cemetary I went to the Necropolis. It is much smaller. Because this is our oldest cemetary I had thought that it would be much more preserved and graves cleaned up. Having been to cemetaries in other Countries I was saddened that this looked so neglected. With Mt Pleasant there were people walking and looking all around. I was the only person in there. A map pointing out predominant areas would have been great. I only had a paper I cut out of a book and it too did not give much information. The history of the people in there would have been both helpful and interesting. Remember they just put Jack in there
