Without any doubt THE place for any foodie to go in Toronto !

Over two floors this is heaven

It is very very busy though !

Especially on Saturdays and I did find it almost claustrophobic and stuffy

Lots to see and if your buying lots to choose from, butchers, veggies, fruit, cheese, bread and all manner of spices, condiments, relishes and everything else you could imagine

Also the place for a famous bacon peameal sandwich. Personally I wasn’t that over enamoured (the relish made it)

Thank Jon W

Loved visiting this spot. It was such a cool and historic part of Toronto. The seafood joint in the back was delicious and it was so great seeing all the different stations inside.

Don't come here, if you're looking for inspiring food and products to try! There's no appetizing place to sit down to enjoy your choice of groceries. Its rundown and just not worth a visit, if you have a comparison to other enjoyable markets all over the world.

Corridors lined with food stalls, where a mix of workers, executives, students, groups of youth, people pushing baby carriages queued for take-away sandwiches... several small tables free for all so you’d be lucky to get a seat at all. Very very informal, just stand and eat anywhere is ok. Or walk around eating, no one will mind. Got the famed pea-meal bacon sandwich and couldn’t understand what the fuss was all about... but hey it was a hot sandwich so still a pretty good eat when you’re hungry. It’s a market so you can buy whole slabs of meat and various fresh fish to cook for home... reasonable prices and not surprising this is where the locals go.
