“Best Cheese Danish in North America”
Reviewed 20 December 2009

This is not a restaurant review. Dimpflmeier is a bakery outlet store with about 18 small tables (max 4 people) and some standing room only area. That’s few more places to have your coffee and eat your cheese Danish or other desert. One your first visit you will have hard time to choose just one, so as a 20 year + customer, I can help you. Cheese or Poppy seed Danish, Cinnamon twist, Euro style cheese cake, Almond tart; all this stuff have no competition not only in Toronto, but in North America.
Their coffee is usually very good (also my Toronto favourite) I do not get espresso or cappuccino here because the regular coffee is strong, full body stuff (I think they use Dallmayer). There is also many varieties of bread and buns, the main reason people shop there. I like the Schlesian, Jaeger and Sonnenblumen seed bread. Everything is fresh, some items are baked several times a day. Some breads are available also in supermarkets, but at this location it is about 20% cheaper. They also bake great cakes, some you can get by the slice.
If somebody thinks thay know a better place to get Cheese Danish in North America, let me know. I only have eaten better one from my mother (of course) and in Aida Pastry shop in Vienna, Austria (but not lately)
Sevice is adequate but not the best. Be aware of Maria (the manager!!) no people skills at all.
