Thank you so much for visiting the Boar's Head Pub and for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. We are a family owned and operated Inn and we support many local teams (of all ages) and non-profit organizations and we are forever thankful that the local community, as well as guests and patrons from out-of-town, come to the Boar's Head and make it, and the Queen's Inn, their home away from home. Sincerely, Barb Ford/Innkeeper/Owner
We had a ladies gathering last week and Barb Ford was awesome enough to let us use the Edinburgh Lounge. Its fantastic. You have your own space, food and service were fantastic. We loved this afternoon out with our friends. Thank you Barb for another lovely afternoon at the Inn.... its a yearly event for us and we love it !!
A nice older but very well kept hotel in the centre of the city. It's close to everything. It is run by a great family who take pride in tending to the needs and whims of their guest. Highly recommended.
I hesitate to diss the pub as it seems to have a good fan following. I've eaten here twice and had the sense they could be so much better. The staff are extremely friendly, and the selection of beer and cider on tap is great. We ordered Reuben sandwiches. Disappointed to receive a few slices of dry brisket and minimal sauerkraut on a bun. The side salad was tasty and my partner enjoyed his Caesar.
Perhaps it's smarter to stick with the specials?
Keep trying, you guys, I want to like you.
very quaint clean old hotel full of character. the room was clean and roomy.can easily walk to the river and along the walk way was amazed at the numerous flower beds along the river. this area had many food option locations and stores to browse in.
We actually stayed at Snuggle Inn ..one of Barb's properties in St. Marys. But we spent a lot of time at the Queen's Inn. My younger Sister was married there to an adoring Groom.
We had a meal prepared for the Wedding party afterward with delightful music and a sumptuous meal The roast beef was incredible. Real Mashed potatoes and gravy. It was all just perfect! other items to support the dinner and I did not even get to try the Cordon Blue...which had a delightful aroma and presentation.
Back to the stay at Snuggle Inn. Such a romantic spot, tucked away in a residential area across the moat from St. Mary's Downtown This is one of several cottages and Inn's owned and operated by the same family. It had all the amenities of a Bed and Breakfast without the other people around therefore providing perfection in privacy as well.
The Snuggle Inn may be being sold soon so I feel I must say to potential buyers that they seem have a heat wrap around the shower pipes so we never had to wait for Hot water and never ran short of hot water.
The Gazebo is perfectly placed so that one can go to lounge without even putting on shoes...such a treat for a country girl who has moved into the city.
The Back deck is shaded by a number of trees and overlooks the river(which I call a moat) and your view is dominated by the buttresses of a castle -like structure.
Any one who lives in St Marys will surely tell you this is the best of all properties.
Thank you to Queens Inn/ St Mary's/Barb/ and my now happily married sister and her adoring Groom
Thank you so much for sharing your experience of the Queen's Inn and Snuggle Inn with others. We always think of the Queen's Inn as our home away from home, and for the past 15 years, Snuggle Inn cottages have been an amazing extension of the Queen's Inn, while offering something totally unique. True, we have comtemplated selling one of the 3 cottages, but recognize that there are so many things to consider - mostly the fact that many of the guests have become friends over the years and we know how much they look forward to their vacation each year - we love seeing them as well - they are like family coming home (but with their own private retreat). Best wishes for a wonderful year, and we look forward to your next visit. Sincerely, Barb Ford
