A very ideal place for 4 people to stay comfortably! It was clean, neat and a lovely place to stay in. Jackie was awesome and accommodating too. Well worth the price you pay for sure. Loved it :)

Very clean, in heritage building, comfortable bed (very important to me) Jackie, owner was great, at a price about half of what you would pay for a hotel in Ottawa

“Glorious, comfortable, convenient”

My spouse, teen daughters & primary age daughter with special needs stayed in Jackie's lovely apartment for our July/August Ottawa holiday & could not have been more pleased. This 3rd floor tower apartment in her victorian-era home is spacious, much more comfortable than a hotel & boasts a large, equipped kitchen & dining table for family meals. A dishwasher & lots of counter/storage space made meal prep & clean up a breeze. Kitchen linens, paper toweling, dishes/flatware/serving/cooking utensils for a small family plus garbage bags, recycling, dish soap & other kitchen amenities made preparing meals & picnics a cost-saving pleasure.

Our teens enjoyed their own room with a large closet & super comfy bed. Our youngest had a cot set up next to our own comfy bed, next to our own large closet, leaving plenty of space to move around & for her to play. Both bedrooms have doors onto a lovely porch amongst the trees where we enjoyed coffee & scampering squirrels morning & evening. With luck, Jackie's backyard neighbour in the behind-the-house family culdesac will not move, so visitors can continue to enjoy his clematis screened roof top porch & the sight of his 2 cats delicately moving from roof to roof on their side of the square. A pleasurable, peaceful oasis after a day of city exploring.

The bathroom is small but adequate, stocked with little surprises like fine shampoo/conditioner, yummy body wash, a hair drier, soft TP & plenty of thick, white towels. The shower itself is outstanding. There's a wide "rain shower" shower head, plenty of hot, hot water & strong water pressure. Jackie's drying rack can easily be set up in the wide hall for towel drying & by-hand washing. However, there are full washing facilities in the tidy basement (the washer requires a loonie & 3 quarters) with a variety of laundry powders, dryer sheets & stain removers for visitors' use. Big, clean recycling & garbage bins are easily accessible at the side of the house & the parking space for the apartment is immediately in front of the house. Plenty of easily opened windows & a couple of fans made this 3rd floor space surprisingly cool; we needed the adequate air conditioning only for a few hours one day despite the July heat. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, necessitating some climbing so if you left something in the car, you'll probably choose to go without it until the next day. However, even with arthritis & the weakness resulting from chemo, the stairs posed little obstacle.

The quiet, tree lined neighborhood is surprisingly set right in the middle of Centretown, giving visitors easy walking access to the Museum of Nature, many multicultural restaurants, Tim's, organic & traditional grocery stores, quirky second hand shops, a vintage clothing store & multiple other amenities. If you'd prefer to bus to walkable but more distant locations like Parliament Hill or Byward Market, the city bus is less than a block away at the entrance to this peaceful little neighborhood in the heart of the city.

Jackie is a splendid host, offering affordable, comfortable, private family lodging in an excellent location. Her friendly, helpful welcome made us feel right at home & her well-organized book of maps, recommendations & explanations made city exploring easy. Find the small stack of up-to-date "exploring Ottawa" books next to the television to flesh out your journey whilst curled up on the comfy couch in the turret. A pleasure all around.

It's is everything as shown in the pictures and description and then more.
Such a quaint place. Sitting in the turret watching TV is so cozy. Two good sized bedrooms. Also bathroom, kitchen and dining room a good size for a vacation apartment.
Also the outside balcony off both the bedrooms is an added bonus.
The apartment was well stocked throughout, with little extras that were really appreciated.
Bed linen and towels such a good quality and sparkling white.
Use of a washer and dryer great for us during our travels.
This place is certainly value for money. To be honest under priced.
The apartment is a pleasant 10 minute stroll from the canal and from there another 10 minutes walk into the centre with all the beautiful buildings.
Plenty of eating places and shops near to the apartment.
Jackie was a pleasure to deal with, from the booking to during our stay and up to our leaving. The information she provides on Ottawa in the apartment in just what is needed.
