While we have eaten samosas, naan and butter chicken before - Indian was a jump for our regular dining choices. The upstairs of the restaurant was small but nicely designed. The temperature inside however was set so high it must have been close to 90 degrees inside. At first it wasn't an issue but after eating spicy food it quickly became a factor. The washrooms are located downstairs and this area is in need of some cleaning and updating...it looks like that's in the works.
The server was extremely friendly and informative, taking the time to explain the menu and answered my questions. Their wine list needs some updating as it offered a couple of choices different than the Niagara VQA wines but did not have the one I selected.
The menu has plenty of choices - great if you are vegetarian or gluten free. We started with the soup and samosas, which were probably one of the best samosas I've had in a long time. The mint sauce was the bomb! Just perfect amount of heat overall. Also tried the mango salad which was fantastic, a little sweet but still very good. Hubby had the house curry with lamb and I opted for the chicken vindaloo both were very tasty. Nicely presently with naan bread and a crispy piece of poppadam.
Pricing I thought was good - hubby enjoyed soup, we shared samosas & salad, plus two mains a bottle of wine & a beer all for $100. Look forward to trying it again. Hopefully this time the temperature is a bit more comfortable than it was on that day.
