On arrival the receptionist ignored us, and when eventually started communicating was offhand and rude!! She could do with a going on a customer relation course!
The room itself was extremely tired, dirty in places and had a damp smell. There were dark patches on the ceiling and in corners. The Jacuzzi was grubby, not that we were thinking of using it for a second! There was no fridge in the room and the hairdryer didn't work.
On a plus, the bed was comfy.
On checking out there wasn't a member staff, (perhaps all were attending a customer relation course?) after waiting for an eternity we finally left the keys with a note
Would definitely not return!!

Certainly not whats advertised on the hotel sites.
Strange smell on entering the room. Almost smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Benches were dirty and hair in tub and on bathroom floor. The envelope that housekeeping left for tips is still empty too.
No frills. No filling left in the pillows. 2 weren't high enough. Finally got aircon to work after it tripped the breaker a few times.
Nearly knocked myself out on the clothes shelf outside the bathroom door.

The Diplomat Inn is close enough to the falls that you can walk there but its not overly pricey. The rooms are a good size but outdated. They have an outdoor pool thats chilly. We got a better deal booking directly with the hotel not through a booking site. Hotels.com wanted $110 in fees. And the hotel will give you a multi night stay deal.

The Place is nice and the staff is very friendly. I would give it 5 stars. Close to timmies, dairy queen and other food places. Close to the falls as well. The owner is very welcoming and the pool is very clean as well

My husband and I came from the states for an event. We arrived at the hotel late in the evening. We had to call a number in order to check in. That was no problem, however, when the man came to the desk, he refused to give us a room. We showed him the reservation and the receipt that we had paid. He stated that he believed us, however he would not give us a room and refused to refund any money either. He ended up telling us to leave and locking us out of the hotel. Thankfully, hotels.com was wonderful and refunded our money and found us a place to stay for the night.

Room Tip: stay away entirely....
