A friend and I were in town with our dogs and needed a place to crash for the night. Being a Comfort Inn, I was not expecting luxury, however this property was quite rundown and unsatisfactory. First off, we did not get the room we requested (on the main floor, so it would be easier for the dogs). Ok, fair - they can't always grant every request, however my friend overheard the very next guest being checked into a downstairs room. Hmmm.

The first room we were given smelled as though people had been smoking in it for 50 years (but maybe not for the past 2). There was a very stale, yet obvious stench of cigarettes. (This is supposed to be a completely non-smoking hotel). We were given the room next door, which was much better, smell-wise. The carpet had seen better days though and it was furnished very oddly (the tv was in front of the full-length mirror. Strange.)

The room was missing very basic amenities (coffee creamer and toilet paper, to name a couple.) This was rectified easily though.

The beds were not very comfortable - I could feel the springs under me and the AC was only detectable when we tied up the curtain, which covered the output otherwise.

Maybe we went at a bad time, but breakfast was not good. There were tiny remnants of what looked like powdered scrambled egg and there was no pancake/waffle batter left. We ended up just having some juice and grabbed breakfast on the road instead.

I've stayed at quite a few hotels with my dog in the past and always understood that you aren't supposed to leave them unattended in your room. This hotel doesn't seem to have that rule, as there were several dogs barking nonstop. How sad to take your dog to a strange place and just leave them there! :(

Ok let's try to say something positive here. Both staff that I interacted with (man at the front desk and cleaning staff) were pleasant. The shower pressure was decent and the water was hot. There were enough towels in the room for 6 people. It was nice having the fridge in our room and we appreciated the free parking.

Room Tip: Ask to have a room away from the street, and perhaps away from rooms with dogs if you don't have one.

Heading back home from our trip. Thought a 1-night stay here would be fine. Didn't expect much but a basic clean room to spend the night. The bathroom had a dirty-looking towel (see pic), the shower curtain smells, there are pubic hair in the bath tub, sofa bed had no bed sheet on and you can feel the spring of the mattress, halfway through sleeping, we felt something on our bed...my husband grabbed it and took it to the washroom to see what is it...see picture as a picture is worth a thousand words..it is now 3:03 AM and we're both wide awake. Please check the mattress when you get to a place to stay (any hotel, inn, motel, etc) no matter how late it is at night when you arrived.

Spend one night here end of June on our trip through Ontario.
Nice hotel, free parking, clean room, clean bathroom and very friendly staff.
A special thank you to the lady that made us a waffle during breakfast.

We stayed here with my wife and 2 teenage daughters. They only had room with a pullout couch available. Time to get new couches since these were totally uncomfortable. The breakfast was decent and the owners very friendly but upgrade those couches!!

Travelling from Quebec City to Toronto, I wanted to break up the trip and needed an inexpensive hotel in Kingston. This popped up and I think it is good value for the money. It's an older property but the room was clean and had a fridge. Free breakfast was better than I thought it would be (eggs, sausage, yogurt, waffles) Very friendly staff who go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Good free parking. Located on Princess Street, it's an easy five-minute drive to all of action in Kingston down by the water. Good place to stayl
