This library is like no other! First, The outside architecture makes one think of books. Inside it has a modern and contemporary style but each floor is accommodating and user friendly. This library, despite the age of “Google-dum” is busy all the time and yet it does not feel crowded. You can buy a coffee, snack or lunch at one of the cafes and bring it anywhere in the library. The large auditorium is used for various functions ...live music, lectures, perhaps movies. This is a must see if you are visiting beautiful Halifax.

We recently held an event in the Paul O'Regan Hall, which is a beautiful facility. It has comfortable seating and good audio visual equipment and acoustics. The food supplied by the cafe was delicious!

For bibliophiles a visit to a modern library built with many features but reportedly ran out of money to buy books so seeks donations of books from the public....
May your way to the top floor for a great view of Halifax

The design is based on a stack of books, which I couldn't figure out until after the fact. Light pours in from every direction. Every floor is a revelation with local research high lighted on one floor, media, studio on another, children's delights, cafes with exhibition space, and a rooftop garden. Plenty of space speaks to the future use as Halifax is definitely transitioning to upscale tastes.
