We couldn't leave the ship until 2pm so our tour during daylight hours was somewhat limited. Earl was our driver and was waiting for us once we disembarked. This tour is per the hour & we had signed up for the 5 hour tour which included Peggy's Cove. You can tell your driver where you want to go during the 5 hours or you can extend your time for additional places if you want to pay for additional time. For us, the 5 hour tour was perfect. We started with some sites in town, the Halifax City Gardens, the Citadel, since it was free this year due to the anniversary, the Fairview Cemetery for the Titanic Graves (very interesting) then on to the 1 hour drive to Peggy's Cove and lighthouse. Just doing these tours took our 5 hours due to the long drive to Peggy's Cove. Earl was great & very knowledgeable of the area since he is from the area. I would recommend this company.

We did a coastal tour with Norm. It reminded us of the time my husband took a camel ride to the pyramids in Egypt. The Bedouin got them to the pyramids and told the group they needed to pay more to get back. In this case, six of us had planned on a six hr tour. I had our $120 ($60/person) in an envelope. We'll, Norm had us out longer than the anticipated 6 hours and each couple had to cough up an additional $30 at the end. We definitely did not like that structure. I guess it would have been better to estimate for eight hours and take money out of the envelope rather than be told you owe more at the end! That was the most disappointing aspect of our time in Halifax. My husband was not thrilled with "crawling" into the back seat of the Expedition. He said that's for the kids, not the grandparents! It was a real chore to climb out of the back seat at each stop.

Dear Beware,
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your comments and concerns. You did indeed book a six hour coastline tour that included Peggy's Cove in a six passanger mini van. As this was a very busy day for us, we upgraded you to a six passanger Ford Expedition Max, the SUV available, a nice comfortable smooth riding vehicle, at no additional charge. Your group decided to do two things not included in that six hour coastline tour, the Titanic grave site and a stop for lunch which added almost two hours to this tour. Your group of six people was charged for 7.5 hours, which is fair when you include the extra stops. As for the camel ride you mentioned, the coastal roads we travel in this tour have a lot of curves and rather than having our guests motion sick, we train our drivers to take their time on those curves and over those roads.

Myself and five girlfriends used Halifax Tour Guys for an 8 hour tour on October 7, 2017. Our driver was Lem. Lem was very informative and he knew everything about everything, we learned such a lot about this part of the province. Nothing was too much trouble, if we wanted to stop and check out something he would stop and allowed us to take our time. I can say we really did get our money's worth and would highly recommend this company.

We had Ed for our guide and he was fantastic. We pre booked the Halifax/ Peggy's cove tour. We began at the Titantic site, and learned so much, the off to Acadian Maple, then to Peggy's Cove, plus more. It was a great way to see alot, stop for photos ad learn from a local. Thanks Ed. I would definetly recommend this company.

Our tour started with gardens, which we chose because of the time of year to just drive around and spend more time elsewhere. The next stop was the Citadel. Because it was Canada's 150th anniversary there was no charge to go in. My husband love history. We found our way into the area that had trenches like what would have been in the war, of course. There was an volunteer dressed up in a war uniform that answered any questioned you had. It was very interesting. There were other people around dressed in different uniforms. We could have spent more time here if we were allowed. The next stop was the cemetery with the Titanic graves. These were the bodies that were taken out of the water. Our guide was very informative about this area. Then out to Peggy's Cove. Go to the second floor of the gift shop to get your passport stamped. We did stop at a Maple shop along the way. We bought the maple covered peanuts, Yum.
