Stayed over the weekend, woken up at midnight by people in the hallway slamming doors and yelling to each other. This hotel advertises quiet time after 10pm, but this is the third time we have stayed at this location and been woken up by either kids running back and forth between rooms or drunks in the middle of the night. The rooms are lovely and clean, and the staff will respond when you call.

Room Tip: If you get a water view room, be aware that the corner rooms have round windows with no shades...the light comes in all night.

It was our first time staying here at the Holiday Inn Waterfront in Sydney, NS ... I was here for work but brought my mother and son with me. We stayed 7 nights. The staff here from front desk to housekeeping were all fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. The hotel room itself was an ocean view with two queen beds; quite spacious with standard tv, dresser, desk and a side table with two chairs by the window ... the bathroom had a tub and shower, which was wonderful for my mother who loves baths.

They have a pool with a water slide (the kids will love this) and a hot tub ... there is also a fitness room but we didn’t use it. The boardwalk is right outside and is a nice walk to do.
We would definitely stay here again ... I looked at other hotels but many were far from the downtown walkable area and/or did not have a pool (request from son). So glad I chose the Holiday Inn. And both the attached pub and breakfast restaurant were very good!

It has been a couple years since i last stayed at the Holiday inn Sydney, overall not much has changed.

Location is good, rooms are clean and are a decent size. Food options at the hotel are good and reasonably priced.

The hotel itself could use a little bit of an upgrade, but overall, pretty good place to stay when travelling in Sydney.

Am currently staying here as my husband is on business and the boss said he should take me along. This hotel is super super clean, great view of the harbor, has a neat pub in the lobby which great mussels. The staff are really helpful and friendly. They have a a restaurant area for Breakfast that has ordering off a menu, I've had the french toast three mornings in a row they are so good. This is clearly the best holiday inn I've ever stayed in !

We had traveled all day from Maine. The first problem was finding a parking space. Found one! We checked and went to our room. We had reserved an accessible room. The one we got was not. So we left our luggage there and went back to the front desk. When we explained our problem to the girl she disappeared into the back office. A few minutes later the manager appeared. He was extremely sorry. It seems that on their website they sell five accessible rooms. However, they only have two. It seems that most people book the room because of the rate, when they arrive they accept a regular room. We were unlucky to be number three. We ended up with a free night and a free breakfast. Would we stay again? Probably not because of the parking.
