It was raining - all day! What better place than to visit the museum.
The start gave us a good omen - two ladies who took our coats and hung them up with an identity label. Thus there was no need to lug around our wet coats all day.
We bought tickets for both the museum and the adjoining imax theatre at the same time.
The first floor (second floor in the NA language!) was about the geography of BC and how it came about. Then on the flora and fauna of the developing land. Huge dioramas with life sized animals both current and extinct. Beautifully done. As with all museums now it forecast how climate change would affect BC. I am afraid that I have become immune to the constant harping on about the gloom and doom that is going to descend upon us and passed quickly on. (Museum designers please note - it has become boring).
On the 2nd (3rd) floor the exhibits were absolutely outstanding. I cannot begin to say how fascinating it was to read about the people, industries and labour usage in a developing country. So much history and artefacts to illustrate it in such graphic detail. Probably the best museum exhibit I have seen anywhere in the world.
The imax cinema visit was, of course, superb as you would expect.
All in all one of the best museums I have visited. Don’t miss it!
