This facility, once the proud home of live theatre, especially Broadway touring companies and International shows, went into Bankruptcy under Garth Drabinsky and the city took it over. They then recently sold it to be used as a church. The biggest hullabaloo was it happened right before Christmas and part of the agreement (hopefully ongoing) is that the Nutcracker, a Vancouver institution, will continue to be held here. While the acoustics and sight lines were not perfect, this is one of the many Vancouver live cultural institutions that has been lost, like the Vancouver Playhouse. Shame on Vancouver!
