I’ve stayed here numerous times for various events downtown. I quite like it. Service is always friendly. Rooms are a great value, and the hotel is close to many venues. Both on-site restaurants are nice as well. Definitely recommend, and will always make this my go-to hotel.

Good: rooms are newly renovated, very clean
Bad: rooms are very small, beds are are harder than most sandman's, the gym doesn't open until 730-8am, there is no lobby coffee, the rest of the building other than the rooms is old and unrenovated.

Hotel is old and could use an update, but the location is solid and close to amenities, restaurants and activities in the downtown area. There is a second location for the sandman hotel in downtown so that could be a better fit if

Location is very convenient. Good value for price. Close to the stadiums and restaurants and amenities. I would stay here again, but may try the second location in downtown instead during my next visit to Vancouver.

The location was the best part of the hotel. Walking distance to everything downtown so exploring was easy and close to Roger’s Arena if watching a game. The Moxie restaurant and Shark Club were both excellent and service was amazing. The room itself was not great. There was mould all over the curtains which was alarming for myself with asthma. The bathroom had no ventilation so condensation build up after a shower was inevitable. When we requested room service, we left the room at 10am as advised by hotel and returned at 3:45pm and the room still had not been done. They came at 4:30 and asked us to leave for an hour.

I was not prepared for the level of shenanigans that we experienced. Key card didn't work in the elevator to select our floor. Ended up on the 11th floor instead of 7th. Thought oh well let's just take the stairs down. Couldn't open the door to the 7th floor because you need the key card to open it. Had to go all the way down the stairs. Get new cards at the desk. Finally get to the room to rest before the concert but was accosted by the overwhelming smell heavily scented cleaning products. Gagged for a solid 5 minutes. Went to order food at Moxie's, the one elevator was acting up and I couldn't wait around, so I decided to take the stairs. Bad idea because it triggered my asthma. I'm trying to catch my breath and I walk into the room with the overwhelming smell and gag for another 5 minutes. Talked to the front desk about the smell. They use scented cleaners. I told him "I'm going to be real blunt with you; that is fn stupid. Not very considerate to people with sensitivities to scents." All I got was we will pass that on to the manager. The only saving grace was its proximity to the venue and a regular plug by the bedside. Other than that, this was my worst hotel experience. You couldn't pay me to stay here again.

Room tip: If you have sensitivities to scents, do not stay here. The scented cleaners they use are incredibly overwhelming when you walk into the rooms.
