Both rooms had a bad smell and so did the bedding. The bedding was old and worn, the pillows.beds lumpy and uncomfortable. You had to manouver onto the toilet to be sure you didnt get hurt by the sharp protruding sink top. There was no inclusive breakfast as advertised, they offered you to go to MacDonalds, there was no lift or help with all our bags, no microwave or fridge. The car park was small and full. We did not get one of the rooms we had reserved. It was noisy, overall appearance dirty and the area was unsafe and looked like a slum. I would advise folk to stay away from this place for their own comfort and security. We have stayed in many Days Inns in the US and Canada and were on a tour of BC. This was the absolute worst we have ever stayed in.

Dear Guest,

In response to your unsatisfactory review I am concerned that your experience was anything less than satisfying. Our goal is to not only meet the needs of every guest, but to exceed your expectations in order that your stay is as comfortable as possible. Your feedback is extremely important to us and I would like you to know that your comments have been addressed. However, I was surprised by your comment 'No inclusive breakfast' and being 'Offered McDonald's'. Firstly, we have had our Day Break Cafe in operation since April 2009 and have been serving complimentary breakfast to all our guests since this time. I would also like to take this opportunity to assure you that our rooms have both a microwave and a fridge pending on the room type booked. We have a complimentary car park for our guest's and to date have not received any negative feedback. We are currently undergoing refurbishment upgrades and expect completion to be year end 10. Again, please note your feedback is extremely important to us and I truly hope that we will have an opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel in the near future and that I may personally oversee your stay and re establish your confidence in our property. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Emer Archbold

I would not reccommend that you stay any longer than 1 night but if you must no longer than 2, this is a place that is ok to get your head down for a night and thats it.

Plus points:
Great shower - very powerful and plenty of room.
Room was resonably clean.
Good location on Kingsway with number #19 transit bus running right outside and this takes you downtown and to Stanley Park.....make sure you have the correct change for buses its $2.50 for zone 1, you keep the ticket and its good for 1.5 hour anywhere in zone 1.
Desk clerk in the morning called a taxi for me, very helpful.
OK selection of breakfast items - nothing fancy but enough to fill you up.
Fair price for basic bed and breakfast.

Minus points:
Front desk in the evening were not very helpful, i checked in at around 18:30 and had to struggle up the stairs with 3 suitcases whilst the desk clerk watched! and then i had to struggle along to the room right down the bottom corridoor....thankfully i was not placed upstairs so thanks so much for the help there staff.
At 2am on one of the mornings some of the guests staying were having an argument, this continued until 4am when they had obviously burned themselves out.....i was thinking that maybe the night desk clerk was asleep because these guests were running freely up and down the complex, slamming doors at each other that could have been heard by someone standing in Stanley Park, I know its not the hotel's fault that guests were arguing but it is their responsibility to be looking out on the complex at night and resolve any such issues, it was not just myself that had to listen to it, several people at breakfast were also complaining about it.
Very drab and depressing room decor and in desperate need of an upgrade with some fresh, lighter colours.
I was travelling alone and i did not feel safe in the room at all.....the door had a gap when locked that you could push your finger into.
The telepone crackled really badly whilst on the line.
The wireless internet is not on a secure network.
The desk clerk in the morning along with a manager watched whilst i again struggled out the door and down the stairs with 3 suitcases....thanks.
As someone has previously mentioned this place is not wheelchair friendly.....or suitcase wheeling friendly.....strange for a hotel right?
Whilst i was waiting in the lobby i heard another guest arguing with the staff about the fact that they had requested by email to stay another night at short notice and that they had agreed a rate, the staff would not honour it and were not taking any reponsibility.....yes i did not know the full story and these guests could have been trying to pull a fast one but i noticed that one of the other reviewers on here had also had some problem with rates etc over email so i put this in to make people aware.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to complete your review. Please know that your feedback is extremely valuable to us. Feedback such as yours assists us in improving our service and property on a daily basis. In addition, please know that your comments and issues have been addressed. Firstly, while we regret any inconvenience you experienced with your luggage. I can assure you that after further investigation it would appear unlikely that the Front Desk team would be unwilling to help a guest and I feel perhaps there may have been some misinterpretation. That being said, I have taken the liberty of speaking with each and every member of our team regarding this incident. It is our hope that each member of staff would on every occasion given to them go that extra step to not only ensure the comfort of our guest’s but also to remain in line with our continual persistence to strive to meet and exceed the highest standards possible. In this light, I would like to take the opportunity to apologize that your experience overnight was anything less than satisfying. It is my firm belief that the property is being continuously monitored throughout the night. However, it is with my sincerest apologies that on this occasion you feel the night team may have failed to take action in a timely manner. Finally, I would also like to thank you for your compliments to the hotel and I do hope that we may have an opportunity to serve you again the future. Thank you.
Yours in hospitality,
Emer Archbold

Although we arrived well before check in, the staff did allow us to leave our luggage at the front desk. We had booked two smoking rooms with Queen Beds for two ngihts. We were traveling with two grown children (23 and 24 years old). Check in was at 3:00 pm. When we arrived at 4:00 pm we were told that our rooms were ready and to proceed, but we could not have the two smoking rooms as promised. Not really a problem as we could go out onto the balcony / garden area to smoke. We arrived at our rooms to find one completely not even started by the chambermaid and the other was about half way done. There was about another 1/2 hr wait.
The next afternoon when we cam back after sightseeing, the tv was not working. We inquired at the front desk to be told that a complaint would be issued, they were not TV repairmen! My husband finally discovered after crawling the perimeter of the room, that the cord was unplugged. Showers very clean but small and no bathtubs! Cleanliness was ok, but staff said they were misinformed of all our request by the website we used. I just don't buy it as upon arrival everything was confirmed! The continental breakfast was stale and many people were complaining about it. If you just need a bed for the night..go for it, as for the rest...stay away!

Was a little apprehensive with some of the reviews but was very happy with our stay. Close to sky train and bus runs by front door. Staff recommended restaurant across the street which was great. Felt it was a very good value without the high parking fees being closer to city center. Good free breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay at Days Inn Vancouver Metro until our car was broken into as we were checking out at 8:00 AM. The parking lot has access from a local street and has no fences or barriers to prevent entry from theives. The Motel has a sign in the lot and cameras, but no recording device to allow any follow up investigation. The staff were polite but did little more than dial the local police for us and provide a piece of cardboard for our broken window. We will no longer trust Days Inn.
