I will start off by saying we are gold members of the Marriot rewards program..
When my husband booked our stay, he informed the lady that we were in town for our anniversary and asked if they did anything special. She replied yes, happy anniversary and what not. She said she would have something special done for us during our stay. When we arrived we checked in (man at the desk during that time was plesant but hurried us along quickly. We parked our car underground in the Marriot parking, which had broken glass, EVERYWHERE! We got up to our room and quickly realized it was not the same layout as whats posted on their website for king habourview room. All the furniture was along the window wall, blocking the view. I moved a couple things around so we could sit at and see out the window. When i picked up the floor lamp to move it. The whole base of it completely crumbled into a million little dusty pieces. (There was a concrete type base under the chrome top).. cleaned that up as best i could, all the while being frustrated that im having to clean up our room on our anniversary. There was no water in our room, nothing that stated anything about the hotel amenities hours, no info on whats close by as far as restaurants, entertainment. nothing that said what channel the guide was on or how to oparate anything. ( 90% of the channels ended up skipping and had such bad reception we couldn't even watch what was on) We deiced it was time for a drink. There were no glasses in our room so we called to have some brought up. 45 minutes later and still nothing. We went down to the desk to get our glasses and the man seemed rather bothered that we came down for the glasses. Pool & hottub were good but bathroom was closed, meaning you have to go back to your room to use the washroom mid swim. Also, we spent the entire stay waiting for our "special anniversary treat" the lady mentioned, and nothing ... Overall i was incredibly disapointed with our anniversary stay at the Marriot Pinnacle Vancouver & likely will NOT reccomend.

The pros:
Nice city view - if you like that. Buildings, offices, lights, streets...
Heating and cooling system works great - very effective.
Front desk service was very helpful and very nice, both at check in and when i called down with questions.
Location - It's close to a lot of great things in the middle of downtown, and you can walk to the water, or to the financial district, or to the mall, very easily.

The cons:
Weight Scale in the bathroom does not work
The decor feels very outdated to me, and has a lot of dark red everywhere. Red chairs, red in the carpet, dark furniture...
The Robe hanging in the closet was so old it was pilling.
No mini fridge
I believe this hotel is old and Needs Renovations to be updated
There was a disposable Take out container lid on floor under side table - housekeeping missed this

Overall, this is a very average hotel in downtown Vancouver. I personally would not recommend it as a high end hotel, or as somewhere super nice to stay for a special occasion. There are much nicer places around. There's nothing wrong with it really; it's just not somewhere I would choose.
