This hotel was chosen for our accommodation by the tour company cosmos. As I was travelling twin share, 2 beds are obviously required.
We were unaware that to achieve this, one of us had to sleep on a fold out bed in the living room.
This bed was extremely uncomfortable, which made for a very unpleasant stay. So be warned, when traveling twin, you'll need a coin to flip to see who gets a decent nights sleep. I eventually took the mattress off the bed and placed it on the floor!!!!.
The tour manager did try and get me a room, but the less than interested front desk staff smugly told us nothing was available. I would not recommend this hotel..

Dear Davon L,

I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay with us. As we are a full suite hotel all of our guest rooms feature either One King or Queen Bed in a bedroom and a Sofa Pull Out in the living room. Your tour provider is made aware of the bed configurations at the time of booking.

Regards,
Caitlin, General Manager, Sandman Suites Vancouver - Davie St.

Driving on Davie Street in Vancouver, B.C., looking for the Sandman Hotel, following the street numbers as they increased. Silly me, all I had to do was look high in the sky. And there it was, tall building with its name at the top-couldn't miss it.

Now where is the front door of the hotel? At most hotels there is a short roof extension, where you can park the car while checking in. No place to park. Where do we go now. Continued on Davie St. to the first street left, then first left again figuring that we could find the back of the hotel-which we did. Parked the car, both inside to checkin and find out where to park the car.

The front lobby was a good size, Large reception area and counter, 3 elevators, front door on Davie St, side door to Moxie's Bar & Grill. Plenty of tourist information pamphlets available.

We unloaded our luggage from the rental car, I waited in the lobby while husband located the underground parking and made his way back to the lobby. There is an elevator in the underground parking to take you to the various parking levels to and from your hotel guestroom level.

After opening our hotel room door, we stepped into a small but compact accommodations. Immediately after entering the foyer, on the right was a coat closet. The kitchen was well equipped, with full size refrigerator and stove, pots and pans, dishes/glasses and cutlery, and coffee machine.. Can remember is there was a toaster but a coffee machine for sure. Even a sink to wash dishes. To finish off the kitchen area, a table and chairs for two. The living room area has two end tables with lamps, a sofa bed that was comfortable, another dresser with drawers and tv on top. There is a door to a small balcony. A large window had a good view.
The full washroom was on the left. There was not a fan switch, but a timer dial that turned the fan on. Still on the left side another closet with a washer/dryer combo machine. The bedroom closet was very large and the two twin beds were comfortable. A dresser with plenty drawers topped with a new tv, A ceiling to floor window had a great view of Davie St. and beyond.

We were on the 8th floor of the hotel with super view of the city.

The drive to the underground parking and the back door of the hotel is ::::::
drive west on Davie St (numbers go higher), Left on Jervis St, then First left -it is the back alley to all the businesses. There is a iron door to the underground parking, you will need your hotel room key to open it.

In the neighbourhood around the hotel, were several restaurants, bars, coffee shops and even a grocery store.

The hotel offers free wifi, no trouble connecting to it.

The hotel does not offer a free breakfast.
The parking charge for two nights was $48.00Cdn.

We would stay here again.

Room Tip: the higher the level, the better the view

This hotel is in the Davie neighbourhood which is the gay village in Vancouver and it is a great area close to everything. There were lots of shops and restaurants in the area (grocery store, liquor store, Shoppers Drug Mart, etc.) The room was clean and safe and had a full kitchenette. My room had a view of the mountains and the bay and a beautiful sunset at night. It was close enough to walk downtown in 20-30 minutes or to Granville Island (about a 10 minute walk to the water taxi and a quick ride over). I would stay here again!

A nice hotel in West End Vancouver. Situated only 15 minutes from sea and beach. Half an hour from Stanley Park. Suites are ok. Bathroom was tiny and old-fashioned. We got an upgrade to ocean view. Not bad! Parking costs are high, probably normal for a big city.

My second stay here and very pleased with the hotel suite. We were on the 5 th floor and kitchen facilities were very good. There was also a dishwasher and washing machine in our suite. Bedroom was very comfortable with a king sized bed, plenty of hangers, dressing gown and good shower in our small bathroom. Service was friendly. We had a return stay, this time on the 21st floor and we were able to check in early, having disembarked from an Alaskan cruise. Will stay here again as there are so many restaurants, cafes, grocery shops and transportation is so convenient.
